Sunwing Kamala beach is a beautiful resort. We especially loved the breakfast buffet, swimming pool & our room with an amazing view. The staff at this resort are hard-working friendly & professional.

We loved everything about the resort.

Staff was kind and helpful. Kids' activities were great, and pools were clean and playful. My royal pool suite had a nice swimming pool access and it felt like a personal pool as other pools were busy as compared to what was assigned to us. Having 8 pools definitely had its advantages. Massage services by the beach were nice and refreshing. Location is nice, next to the beach and many eateries. Beach is quiet, and sunset here is mesmerising.

The approach to the hotel is bumpy with no road for about 200m. Being bit away from the centre it gets really quiet and dark by 2000hrs. Overall a good experience and would love to come back.

There are 5 or 6 different pools and a beach just 3 steps out the back door. We couldn't have found a more perfect resort to spend 5 days in with 2 young kids. We were practically between beach and the various pools all day long. We booked the Suite due to booking.com's filtering restrictions and later found it was actually too big. The hotel was very accommodating and helped us change into the Royal Poolside Suite (highly recommended to stay on 1F). Your balcony is right by the water. We love this hotel a lot and will certainly want to go back!

If I had to complain, the bathroom is 3-star condition. The room is much better

This is an amazing resort geared for families with children. The resort has gone to great lengths to make sure all faculties are kid friendly. We stayed in the baby studio rooms, where right from the children's cutlery (non breakable plastic) plates, spoons, cups etc in, to a box with plastic moulds for playing in the sand, to the portable baby toilet was just great. Our kids were older so we did not need to stroller or the baby cot which comes with this category of room. The rooms also have a microwave, a washing area for all the plates, cutlery etc and comes stocked with plates, cutlery etc both for kids and adults. The resort also has a club/activity rooms.for kids and one for teens. Also features a sand play area for toddlers with various swings and slides which is partly covered , great to avoid strong sun or Times of rain.. The top attraction are if course the swimming pools. The property has 10 pools , we only managed to make it to 3 of them since these were also the ones with water slides and where our kids wanted to spend the most time. One of these pools also has an attached pool bar where kids can have juices/sodas icecreams etc while parents or adults can have other beverages and snacks. The property is also linked to the Kamala beach which is a great plus. There is a walking path from the hotel which leads straight to the beach where you can rent chairs/recliners, buy food drinks etc Personally i feel Kamala beach is quite wonderful and so much better than the crowded patong beach.

Access to the nearby shops/resteraunts The main entry to the hotel is though a large open field linked to the main highway, and it is a distance from the nearby shops etc. About 10 minutes walk if using this route. Apparently people who own the land outside the hotel are not giving access to the hotel for a shorter route to the shops. The other option to get to shops, restaurants, is to go out towards the beach and use the public path along the beach to access the shops, restaurants etc outside the hotel. While this is decently lot at night, it still feels like a bit of a distance especially for those staying in rooms that are further away from the beach. It can also be a walk if travelling with elders or those who need assistance walking. An access directly to the Kamala inner road would be a great addition.

We stayed as a family of four and truly enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the pool landscape and the adults loved being able to view the kids playing in the pools while sitting in the hotel cafe/restaurant with excellent wifi connection. Also the kids club gave us space to follow up a few work issues while kids were happily enjoying their stay. The room was very comfy and the food excellent - including the rich breakfast buffet

Nothing really, but I remember the breakfast closed a little too early for us and we missed it a couple of days if we slept in.

Sunwing is a fabulous resort for families. We stayed here years ago when our kids were younger. The pool is great. Good location

It is better for younger families. Not with teens as it is much more set up for young kids.

Great location with direct access to the white sandy beach. Sun lounges were available at any time of the day. Because there were several pools you could choose between the more energetic central pools or the calmer pools behind the buildings on the right. Option for self-service laundry

The beds for kids are relatively small, especially if you travel with teenagers

Stayed here for 2 nights because it was close to the beaches and nightlife. We are a couple in our late 20’s/early 30’s. Honestly this place is in such a nice location and has the most potential to be a great place but it just needs a face lift. The pools were nice but could use a good scrub, be prepared for slow pool side service and no swim up bars because they have one server doing drinks and food for everyone running around. Breakfast is your standard hotel breakfast, nothing to complain about. Staff is great and friendly. It’s fine for staying in the area, nothing spectacular, would love to see it when it was new and fully operating.

Needs some updating and definitely more staff at the pool. Place has amazing potential but it’s not being utilized.

room needed a little attention with maintenance but nothing that wasn’t fixed and rectified immediately.

Great location, amazing friendly staff and very helpful to make our stay memorable (Mr. Monte was absolutely great on his advise out to spend a day out of the resort), food very good and tasty…just perfect place for a vacation…we will be back for sure…

nothing to fault

Everything was perfect, great buffet breakfast, proximity to the beach and restaurants, the pools were amazing.

Could do with a courtesy shuttle bus to at least one of the bigger shopping centres

Studio was very big and well equipped with balcony facing pools. One of the pools is actually faces the beach and sea. It was quiet all the time. Good dinning on property. Self service laundry on property. Reception and restaurant staff very responsive and helpful

Family friendly property with really nice and helpful staff. Monte and Du are super friendly in guiding us to find great seafood and sightseeing spots. Lot of activities in the hotel every day. the property is close to the beach and many great restaurants nearby! perfect trip in Phuket!

Breakfast was ordinary (but not included in our rate, so we only ate there once), better cheaper food outside hotel.

Wish the hotel had sun beds at the beach. Wish lollo and barnie were more active during day time.

Spacious and comfortable room (kiddy pool access). Complementary fruit basket, snacks and soft drinks. Super friendly & welcoming staff. Special thanks to bubbly Mr Monty. He sorted out our logistic issue, took us around town to show halal restaurants, ensure that room is syariah / kids friendly.

No covered path between the room to the main building. We got wet every time we want to go to the restaurant / lobby.

Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent breakfast and meals at Som’s kitchen. Swimming pools well maintained. It is a good time to stay there during the Low season (monsoon season) as there are very few tourists in the hotel and on the beach. Highly recommended!

Water pressure from the shower head and taps in the bathroom is a bit weak.
