Bad WiFi

The woman behind the reception was very friendly and showed us lots of places to go to in and around Stormsriver. We also liked our cottage very much: it had a fireplace and a bath (and a kitchen). Also the bed was very comfortable and had an electronic blanket which is very nice in winter.

The woman who arranged the breakfast we found a bit bossy to the other staff members. And when she asked us a question, she did not stay to listen to the answer, so it did not seem she was very interested. She was a bit stressful, we thought.

Each little cottage is self contained and comfortably furnished. All the beds had electric blankets on and their was a fireplace so we were warm and toasty when it was cold outside. The grounds were pretty and looked after and the staff was very helpful and accommodating.

We didn’t stay long enough

Breakfast was great. Something for all tastes. Excellent location, value for money, beautiful surroundings, staff very friendly & courteous. Accommodation very clean, neat & tidy. Serviced every day.

I highly recommend Swallows Nest for a relaxing getaway, a home away from home if you will with such friendly staff that goes the extra mile to make you feel at home! Highlight features were the delicious breakfasts, simple but perfect; the indoor fireplace, electric blankets, and huge bath with no water restrictions or load shedding in the area it felt like heaven. Highly recommended for a peaceful time away or quiet time to get some creative work done. We will come again, loved our stay!

A small concern was no oven in a self-catering unit, but the main kitchen assists you without an issue. Many restaurants around that you can support at an affordable price. The complimentary WiFi is capped and the signal for certain mobile networks was problematic; but not something the management can be made responsible for.

Highly recommend Swallows nest. We spent two days there before doing the Otter, and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. We spent one more night there and the end of the otter and staff were caring and kind as it had rained incessantly for the last three days and were so happy to see us back all safe and sound .

Our rooms were never cleaned including the kitchen and the bathrooms.

I would suggest extraction fans in the bathroom for steam and condensation removal...

I liked everything here, from the cottage to the breakfast. Very friendly hosts.

Great location and very nice cottages, pool and patio areas. Receptionist very helpful and friendly.

Breakfast a little unfriendly, bathroom needs an upgrade. (shower enclosure old with seal not working etc.)

The area is nice, all the cottages have a small terrace to sit outside. The rooms are clean, all the staff is very nice and friendly. Comfortable bed, we slept well

You can notice that the cottage lacks maintenance, everything seems a bit outdated, from broken fire place to the shower drain. The check in can only be done during 2 hours a day and they serve breakfast only during 1(!) hour in the morning. Breakfast itself is quite poor. They charged 300 rands for a load of laundry which is very expensive. Comparing to other places we stayed on the garden route this was one of the most expensive and probably most unattended.

They cooked our halaal meat for us, that was cool.

Cleanliness, especially in the bathroom was poor. The towels were a bit smelly too.

Breakfast was healthy & well presented. Choice of hot or cold breakfast & you could have both. Location - very central. in walking distance of all major amenities in Stormsriver. I felt very safe in my chalet. Bathroom was exceptional, as if it had been installed the day before. All white tiles. Non cracked. No algae in the shower section which was a "walk-in". Ther were grip rails strategically placed throughout the bathroom. I appreciated this little touch - I'm 70 years old & use them sometimes. The cleaning lady, Petronella, went out of her way to ensure that my chalet was kept clean at all times.

Nothing could have been have been better. I will definitely return to Swallows Nest.
