Room as shown on web site.
Promised birthday dinner did not eventuate. Payment taken before we had a chance to draw breath. Zero communication about the room and the property. Depressing public spaces.
4.3
Fabulous, lovely selection of fresh fruit yoghurt and scour dough & brown bread rolls & croissants.
Delicious bacon eggs & mushrooms.
Choice of orange or apple juice.

Enjoyed the lovely Black Peak Suite at this small B &B about 10 minutes ride from Wanaka. Jess and her Mother, Jackie, made our 3 night stay very memorable. Our cooked to order breakfasts were excellent, and Jess was able to help us with dinner reservations and othe sightseeing recommendations. The acreage driving into the property and unusual animals on sight were fun to see in their enclosed area every time we drove in and out of the property. We thought the price was very fair and we would absolutely do it again!
Staying longer!

The room was pleasant and our studio terrace was nice.
Wifi access was very patchy. Quite a way out from Wanaka.
4.3
Lovely quiet setting outside of town.
Facilities were a bit tired. Wifi did not work. Staff was friendly, but seemed a bit disorganized. We were given a smaller room than what we paid for.
4.3
Beautiful, quiet area around the lodge. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Short drive into Wanaka in the evening.
4.3
Loved how private our room was. Huge bed meant a great nights sleep. It was a fantastic place to stay at the end of our road trip holiday. The bottle of local wine was a lovely touch.

lovely feeling of being at home
beautiful rooms and facilities

peaceful, relaxing, pool and spa were lovely. Jessie was charming and helpful, made it worthwhile
website made it sound special,‘chocolates, sparkling water , canapés’ didn’t see any of these , fresh fruit only in the last afternoon. No tv or kettle in the room, so if you want a cup of tea in bed in the morning you have to go to the kitchen area where others are having breakfast.3 night stay but no room service,( but they don’t tell you this bit) ‘Lush garden, 50 rose bushes’ only two tiny rose buds, no other flowers, ok dry January but roses, agapanthus, hydrangea etc all flowering in town. Had to ask for a second bedside light,
really not five star. Are the glowing reviews all from people who stay in the suites?

It was a really hot day when I arrived, thank goodness the room was air conditioned and the pool was much appreciated. Lovely hosts, super comfy room and perfect for my overnight stay on the way to Queenstown.

Lime Tree Lodge is a beautiful luxurious place to stay about 10 minutes drive outside Wanaka. We loved the peace and quiet but still had the facilities like swimming pool, spa and animals to see. The owners were fantastic and friendly and went out of their way to ensure you had a good stay.

Enjoyed the location which is 6km out of town and quiet - ideally, you need a car to stay here. The Black Peak suite was great.
WiFi was poor. No espresso coffee available in a property of this quality away from town. No daily freshening of the room.
Breakfast not included even though this is a bed and breakfast property.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with fresh flowers, free fruits and a bottle of red wine. It felt like home. The host was very friendly and everything was perfect. We really enjoyed it! In addition, there were a special pig and a few lamas in the garden outside the room.

The lady who greeted us was very apologetic, and couldnt be any more sorry for the Chinese guy lying to us over the phone .the rooms did look beautiful but we came mainly for the pool.
The pool was closed when told it was open before booking !
Very disappointed.didnt stay and got refunded.
4.3
Large room and nice grounds.
We were greeted by a child as the owner was busy entertaining his other guests who were obviously a lot more important than us.
After standing around for a while in the ‘reception’ wondering what was going on, the normal managers mother greeted us as she was on holiday.
The managers mother was lovely, no issues there until..
Towels in the room were stained.
There was a bbq/party directly in front of our room with the owner and at least 20 of his more important guests. This started at 5pm.
The pool was disgusting and had not been cleaned in over 2 weeks at least.
We seriously just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible and asked about the courtesy lift into town as stated on the website and were told we needed to pay for a taxi.
This place looks like it would have been nice with the previous owners but had quickly become a dirty place with an owner who will ruin any respectability the lodge used to have.
At least update your website and don’t false advertise with fake reviews on booking.com
Very disappointed and this is the worst night stay we have had anywhere in the world!

I liked the animals pigs/ lamas and new born sheep. I think they are on the neighbouring property though.
It’s a flash backpackers not a hotel!
1/ wifi didn’t work
2/ no tv in room.
3/ was convinced we were in a suite.Nope just a room with an ensuite.
4/ no gas to the stove.
5/ no baking treats for breakfast as documented
6/ no cleaning of room or Common areas wasn’t done our entire stay.
7/ pool Veiw suite had no pool Veiw.
8/coffee machine was out of working order.
9/ the price was off the scales!
10/ was told they only manage the hotel 10hours a week due to COVID……..okay then.
To Sum things up. We booked the lime tree as our flagship stay as we toured the South Island. It’s was disappointing to say the least. Beware it doesn’t match the photos. And pricing matches a 5 star hotels of some of our major cities. I’d like to comment on the staff but they non existent. It’s basically a plush backpackers with a common area. Maybe my review is harsh. but the couple staying next to us booked for 10 days and left after one. I sadly was more subdued and stay for two. Never again.
thanks for reading Sam.

The room itself was great. Super comfortable, large and nice view.
For the amount we paid, we were disappointed. No one was there to check us in at 4 pm. Just a note with a key. The website mentioned happy hour, transportation to town, unclear on breakfast but we got none of the above. Great room and beautiful facility but really no personal service or explanation, which we thought we’d get for this price.
