Very convenient location for sightseeing.

I stayed on Friday night and people walking outside was loud even after midnight.

Available umbrellas, laundry area, more than enough clean, soft, white towels; location was close to the bus stops, train stations and very accessible to the tourist spots.

The location was great, easy to get around and also the staff was so fluent with English no trouble of communication

Just for the first day of our stay the room smell a little funky, just have air it out for a bit

Close to everything by walking, staff is very polite and considerate, have turned on the air-conditioner before our arrival, so we went in to a clean and cool room on a hot summer day, very refreshing.

good location very near train station so many kinds of restaurants around there

Great location (literally less than a 5 minute walk from the train station, and right across the bridge from downtown), nice staff, good facilities including laundry machines which is great when you are trying to travel and pack light. They had some nice resources at the reception including restaurant recommendations which was a plus.

The temperature and humidity control. The room was ALWAYS humid. Not sure if this is just an issue in Japan because it rained 2 out of the 3 days we were there, and there was a dehumidifier in the hallway, but we had to open our window to air it out because it smelled like damp towels. There was also one night where the air conditioning unit did not work. It was over 24C in the room plus humiditiy in the room and it was miserable. We tried playing with the AC unit and it was not responding; this was when we realized the AC was centrally controlled. This was a little after 10 or 11 pm. On the guest card it had suggested that we text or go on Line and text the front desk for help; which we did but no response. We had an uncomfortable sleep all evening in the heat. The next morning, I went to the front desk and spoke to the receptionist, who nonchalantly said that there was an issue with the AC unit. Didn't acknowledge that they didn't respond to texts or anything. That was a little frustrating.

Most importantly, towels were not replaced every day. Rooms were very small and hard to fit suitcases in them.

Not very easy to find. The name of the hotel on the front door was not the exactly same as shown on the map.

Perfect location. a street away from the geishas, walking distance to nishiki market and other great streets!

The room was very nice, spacious, very clean, bed were comfy and bathroom was also clean. The staff knows english and were very friendly. The location is really the best thing, its really right at the market, lots of options for food, shopping, bars etc. nearby. Allthought these streets are very crowded in night and might be loud you cant hear a thing from the room. Its just a very nice place whicwe recommend

There is a place with the same name that is 10min away by foot. When you use google maps you have to be very careful to pick the correct place, this other place is also a hostel but its permanently closed so it gives you quite a shock when you wait in front of the door. We were lucky that a taxi driver saw us and knew automatically that we were in the wrong place. For free he told us were the correct address was and followed us with his car signalling the correct turns until we made it to the actual place

The AC was off in the room and in the hallway when we checked in. It was a 36C day.

Location is very convenient. Less than 5 mins walk to train stations, bus stops, restaurants and shopping. Property is clean & quiet.Check in and out is fast and flawless. Please note there is more than 1 Laon Inn Gion in this area…..another one is Laon Inn Shinbashi. 😆

Bed comforter softness.

My daughters and I decided to make a quick trip to Kyoto to enjoy cherry blossom season. We speak very little Japanese, and the staff was so kind to accommodate us by speaking English. Everyone at the front desk spoke English and they were quick to assist and answer all of our questions. One staff member was especially helpful— going way out of his way to assist us. I wish I could remember his name, but I can say that he was working the front desk on the evening of March 29. I simply asked the best way to get to Kansai airport from the hotel. Not only did he look up the best route and times for me, when I checked out in the morning the other front desk attendant handed me a hand drawn map that he had left with specific directions written in English to include times, bus stop, and the cost for each leg of our journey. He made our day. Thank you for making our stay in Kyoto so enjoyable.

Such a fantastic place to visit all the sights by foot or public transport. Could not be better. It’s so lovely walking down all the quiet, historic streets of Gion at night time! Loved it! Will visit again!
