I recently stayed in Room 702 with two sisters, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While the room was advertised as suitable for three people, it was far too cramped to be comfortable. However, the lack of space was not the worst part of our stay. Upon entering the room, we turned on the heater, only for a foul odour to emanate from the air-conditioning unit. It was clear that the unit had not been properly maintained. We went down to the front desk for assistance, but there was no phone in the room, so we had to speak to the receptionist in person. Unfortunately, the staff member at the desk on the evening of November 26th was unhelpful and seemed more interested in chatting with a friend than addressing our issue. She instructed us to wait in the room, and eventually, she came up with another staff member to clean the air-conditioning unit with a spray—right above my mattress. Despite their efforts, the smell remained, and when we expressed our concerns, she explained that the unit hadn’t been used in a while and suggested we keep the temperature below 24°C with the cooler on. This recommendation seemed odd given that it was winter, and nighttime temperatures outside were as low as 4°C. Overall, the service at the front desk was subpar, and the experience was not worth the price we paid. I will not be booking this hotel again and would not recommend it to others.

Location of property. Right near bus stop to Kyoto station. Staff were very helpful when we requested assistance.

Washers and dryers. There is only two and take quite a long time. You also have to put the clothes in longer to have your clothes dry.

Das Wayfarer ist ein typisches Traveler-Hotel. Die Zimmer sind für japanische Verhältnisse geräumig, was auch daran liegt, dass man tagsüber die Matrazen zusammenrollen kann und so genug Platz im Zimmer hat. Der relativ große Flur mit einem Schreibtisch bietet ausreichend Platz für das Gepäck. Bad und WC sind nicht getrennt aber sauber und zweckmäßig. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral in Kyoto und man kann viele Ziele gut mit einer kurzen Taxifahrt (500-2000Y) erreichen. Bis zur U-Bahn sind es ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß ein gelegentlich kommender Bus zum Bahnhof hält vor der Tür.

El baño muy pequeño y el porta rollos del papel higienico demasiado pegado al retrete, pera una persona media estatura es incomodo, tenia que agacharme para ducharme.

Location was great, close to subway and lots of places to eat within 10 minutes. Friendly desk clerks. Inexpensive rooms. If your just planning on sleeping in your room great pricing.

Small bathroom, not as clean as other places we stayed in Japan. Sheets didn't look clean when we checked in. You had to ask for towels each day

Intimacy, great facilities, spacious rooms

Rooms were spacious and comfortable. It’s near to the nishiki market, many cafe and restaurants in the area and a bicycle rental shop.

With the exception of the Asian staff who were really helpful, the rest of the staff we met weren’t as hospitable.
