The hotel Voltaire in Arles is a bit of a strange duck. The root of the problem lies with terrible acoustic insulation. Thermal insulation is not good either, however that was a lesser problem than noise. You will hear every sound related to any human activities next door/below/above; but rest assured, with egalite & fraternite, your neighbors will also be in the intimate knowledge of what you do. As such, the Voltaire is best reserved to people who look to revive their early college dorm experiences. The hotel location is excellent.
Some of the hardware provided, and plumbing fixtures, are of the bricko-brutish style; such as the two bed-side tables that are indeed large bricks. The sink was clearly a reclaimed item; a few will find that... cute?

Very well located, nicely renovated and very nice staff
No air co but we were informed beforehand. It is located in the centre (which is a plus), it may be noisy but it did not disturb us.

The hotel is lovely, really stylish - well designed rooms and bathrooms. Really enjoyed the balcony. Really close to the station if arriving by train. It's a perfect location for exploring Arles, and some lovely cafes, bars and restaurants right on your doorstep!
Unfortunately we didn't cope well in the heat with no air con. We did know this from the description but didn't realise how hot we would find it! The hotel does provide fans, and I think would be a great place to stay at a cooler time of year or if you handle heat well.

Excellent location close to the center and the railway station. Probably the best location in Arles for a short stay
No parking for your car, but there are parking facilities at the nearby railway station. No secure place for your bike. You can however take it up to the room and put it onto the balcony

The rooms are very cosy and well equipped, it feels like home. And the staff is very considerate and helpful.
The mattresses are very comfy, I had a great sleep and rest.

The location is excellent and the staff were very welcoming. Food smelt good.
Our room smelled! It was like rotten cabbage and must be from the drains. We had to keep the windows open when in the room. Whenever we returned from a day out the smell was back as strong as before. Very disappointing. Please sort this - the hotel otherwise has no problems.

Location was perfect. No need for car to see the local sights. Easy to park nearby. All staff super friendly. Would certainly stay again.

Clean, renovated hotel in the heart of the old town. Plenty of choices for eating places within walking distance. Parking was 100 meters away; convenient base to explore Provence. Our bedroom balcony had a beautiful view of Place Voltaire.
No elevator. We had to carry our luggages all the way up to the 3rd floor.

very close to train station but also close to all of the key sites of Arles. very friendly staff and a very good tool for the price
there wasn’t air conditioning but there was a good ceiling fan. fortunately, the weather wasn’t very hot when we were there

central location, close to all historic sites, easy walking around town, good restaurants nearby, breakfast excellent and our first experience of North African food. welcoming staff. rooms clean and comfortable
it was 35c outside and whilst ceiling fan made a difference,if global warming continues air con will be essential for a good nights sleep.

A hotel with no facilities open to the guest's. I would not book here again unless the facilities were open. We stayed for 2 nights no access to the bar or restaurant. Absolute disgrace. I also think its false advertising. If I wanted an Airbnb I would have booked one. I booked a hotel and got a bedroom with no other facilities.

Great room and Location with friendly and helpful staff. Balcony overlooking the square provided evening entertainment. Would definitely book again
It was a pity the Bar and Restaurant were closed during our stay but were supposed to open in few days time
