A professional tourist hotel by a lake with long traditions. Access to a gym, pool unfortunately closed. Very good breakfast and coffee. Dinner buffet very good, rich selection of food - however expensive.
The restaurant had no menu a la carte - only buffet. Not many alternatives for a quality meal in Skei Jølster, but junk food at the local gas station. A well known problem when visiting rural Norway.

Our room was opposite some sort of toilet/cabins on the ground floor

Beautiful location & Staff are really friendly!
Room is not clean, carpet is worn-out, bed is not comfortable and itchy.
Definitely needs redecoration.
Room is too hot,no fresh air even if you open the window.
Balcony pavement is fully covered with moss.

Location suitable for our road trip plan
May be good for large tour groups. We (individual travellers) were assigned to the very back of the property, take multiple lefts and stairs to find our way to the room (and back).

Great location, great breakfast and good price. Staff was very good about handling a plumbing problem and immediately moved us to an upgraded room.
Unfortunately the room was very hot and even with windows open in mid May, could not quite cool it off.

The location is absolutely spectacular. An awesome launching point to so many different fjords around the place. Breakfast was amazing as well as all the communal lounge areas. It made me want to come back in the winter and just enjoy the stunning views in the snow.
This is not a problem of the hotel but there's not too many places to eat around in the evening. There's a buffet dinner on site usually but if that's not your thing then just plan for grabbing something nearby.

prompt adjustment of the room to the setup that was booked
looked to big/busy for the personel that was in service that night - room unprepared; we were also accomodated quite away from the main entrance/restaurant

Great location and great property. People were nice and welcoming. Food buffet was very complete for both Dinner and Breakfast.
The bathroom layout. with he drain in the middle of the bathroom… the whole floor gets wet. The floor can be heated to be dried but still, after a shower, the floor is wet everywhere in the bathroom. It’s a minor issue in genera.
