This was the first trip my boyfriend and I had gone on together, and it was a great success! We stayed for a week, and all we needed to do was swing by a nearby grocery store for the few meals we ate out on the screened in porch. The house was tidy, and already included toiletries and kitchenware along with pots and pans.
The property is very calm and has sufficient privacy, while also being close enough to the hosts should any issues arise. Donna is a wonderful host, ready to help with suggestions on the area and is attentive to any communication needed to make with her.

Loved staying in this cabin! The screened in porch and hot tub were wonderful and the cabin was very thoughtfully designed and had everything we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed this gorgeous property and the hosts were great!

This house was perfect for a couples getaway . The home was clean, well stocked and owners even left some treats for us. Coming back to the house after a day of exploring the area was made perfect by the hot tub and screened porch. The property is quiet, secluded yet not a far drive from what we wanted to do. The bed was very comfortable, and all linens and towels smelled fresh and clean! My husband enjoyed catching bass on the pond. I wish we’d had a little more access to the areas around the pond but it wasn’t that big of a deal. We will definitely come back for another weekend in the future!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Can't say enough about the lovely view of the lake from the screened in porch. We spent a lot of our time reading in the comfortable chairs, taking in the lake view. It was a really relaxing stay. The house accommodations were great. We even got to chat with Donna and her pooch. An all around lovely time away.

My husband and I wanted a little get away. This little cabin was just what we needed. We were so close to everything but felt far enough away that it was perfect. The cabin itself had everything we needed and was cozy and comfortable. From the bull frogs at night to the birds chirping in the morning it was the most peaceful weekend. We will definitely be back.The communication with the owner was on point and we couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Heaven’s Gate is just awesome! Sit on that front porch away from the world and hear the quiet. It was just what my husband and I needed as a home base for all of the fun things around Asheville.

I booked this property based on all the previous 5* reviews. I was correct in doing so. Donna messaged me saying we could check in early if wanted. We arrived and everything was exactly as advertised except I mentioned I thought the amenities list included a Keurig which wasn’t present so she brought us one. THAT is service.
A primary reason for this booking was the fishing availability. It was awesome! But if you Bass fish I recommend you bring something more than 6lb test to the fight, cuz you’re gonna get just that.
We like to visit different places in our travels but this property is definitely on our return list.

This was the perfect cabin for our anniversary trip. We were far enough from the city to get away and relax but also close enough to get to shops and restaurants. Our hosts were so welcoming and sweet! Sitting on the screened in back porch was our favorite part of the cabin! We will definitely be back!

The cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway for two. It was secluded enough to feel peaceful in nature but close enough to nearby restaurants and only a 15-20 minute trip to Biltmore/Asheville. Donna went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Super clean and cute! Would 100% stay again.

My wife and I stayed a couple nights during our anniversary road-trip, and we wish it had been more than just two. The location is beautiful, the personalized notes were very kind, and thought was definitely put in to anticipate anything we might have needed. The property was very clean and cozy. We loved it, and given the chance, we would absolutely stay here again!

This is a great spot. We explored the Smokey Mountains, Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain. It’s such a beautiful area and close to everything you need.

My wife and I loved the location. It felt quiet and secluded while still being close by everything. The property was beautifully situated on a pond and the cabin had everything you could want for a relaxing getaway. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and hot tub. This cabin is absolutely stunning and you will never tire of opening the curtains in the morning and seeing the view. Donna was such an angel and made sure we had everything we needed to be content and happy. We will be back!

This was one of the most relaxing places I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. My best friend and I have never enjoyed ourselves so much as we did staying at this place. The cabin is so cute and so much thought was put into everything we could possibly need for our stay. I love the design of the interior as well as the beautiful views while sitting in the living room or out on the beautiful deck. We had such a wonderful time here, and it was such a pleasure to meet Donna and her husband. They are such great hosts. We needed this time to get away and wind down and recharge, and we got that and so much more. We will be returning and we have written this one down as one of our best vacation spots yet. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience than staying here. Thank you so much for having us.

We had such a great time at the cabin. Donna was the best host we have ever had. We arrived with a personal note and sign and felt so welcomed . The cabin was so cozy with a beautiful view. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. We already can’t wait until we can visit again. If you plan on visiting Asheville this is a must stay place!

5/5 stars!! My husband and I stayed here for a little getaway and we were beyond satisfied. I don’t even know where to begin. This place was a slice of heaven. The host Mrs Donna and Mr Curtis were the nicest people we’ve ever stayed with. They brought us extra heaters from their home in case we got too cold in our cabin and offered for us to stay an extra day due to bad weather coming our way. They were so incredibly kind. We enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful views as well as the hike behind their house. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

We spent our 10 year anniversary in this lovely cabin. The owners made us feel very welcome. Biltmore is about 20min away and plenty of hiking within 30min. We look forward to coming back when it’s warmer and try fishing in the pond.

We stayed at this cozy and nice cabin for our honeymoon. It’s was really quiet and clean! The hot tub was phenomenal! Had everything we wanted and was conveniently located to several attractions! Host responded when had any needs and was super nice! Definitely a great stay and honeymoon!

I stayed in this cabin for a quick weekend getaway. It was perfect and exactly as described. It was incredibly neat and clean, which is very important to me. The extremely clean hot tub was perfect after a chilly, rainy day at Biltmore Estates. The location was perfect. Private but convenient to everything. Couldn't have asked for more.

Couldn't have been a better stay! The location was a big highlight for us. Hot tub was a big selling factor when renting and it didn't disappoint! Everything was very cozy and clean. Also worth mentioning is that bed was really comfortable!
If you're looking for a spot to stay I would HIGHLY recommend this one. Hope to stay again in the future!

My husband and I stayed at Donna's cabin for our first wedding anniversary, and we really enjoyed it. The screened-in porch, scenery, and crisp mountain air were perfection. The only thing I would mention is that the owner's house is relatively close to the cabin, so if you want 100% nobody around, then I would look for another place. The owners were super nice and accommodating, I just know that sometimes people look for locations specifically for 100% privacy. Overall, we had a relaxing and fun trip!

We stayed for 3 nights, as a "Fall Long-Weekend Getaway," and enjoyed our stay in the cabin. It was the perfect distance away from it all, and also easy for us to get out and go exploring, hiking, and dining. We would definitely stay again, when in the area!

We loved this place. Only used the hot tub one night during our stay but enjoyed it. We enjoy true getaways where we're not worried a schedule or anything we have to do. That said we didn’t leave the cabin much before lunch each day. We slept in, i enjoyed my coffee on the porch with the cool mountain air and when we got ready, we roamed around a bit.
The first full-day of our stay we drove into Mills River and ate at Big Mike's BBQ for lunch then stopped by Mills River Creamery for homemade ice cream. There was a sign on their door that they would be permanently closing on October 1st due to imminent domain taking the land there for widening Haywood Rd i believe.
From there we drove towards the Asheville Outlets to grab a couple of light jackets since we didn’t pack ours then decided we wanted to grill for dinner, so off to Ingles then back to the cabin to fix dinner.
We ate at Stone Ridge Tavern before heading onto the Blue Ridge Parkway the next day, which is where we spent most of our time. The scenery is gorgeous and the weather was near perfect.
The cabin was so perfectly located for us because it was close to everything we wanted to do, but secluded enough for a true getaway.
Our only complaint was really on me. We're used to a king size bed so we didn’t sleep quite as well in this queen bed at the cabin, but that's minor at best. Like I said that was a choice i made because of the location and previous reviews. Loved this little mountain getaway.

Absolutely adorable cabin with the perfect space for our short stay! Very warm welcome, very clean and absolutely loved the screened in porch & hot tub ❤️ the property is beautiful! Wish we had time to fish in the pond. Location was very convenient to get to all of our activities - downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge parkway and Biltmore. Directions were clear and easy to follow. Hope we get back someday!!!
