Exzellent central Location; private parking.

The bedroom was large with a beamed ceiling , the bathroom clean with an efficient shower and the kitchen was quite adequate. It was very quiet and overlooked a courtyard where we were lucky enough to be able to park our car. The location in the very heart of such a wonderful Renaissance city is a big bonus but it is not easy to find in the maze of narrow one way streets - even with a satnav, but well worth it.

We liked everything, it was entirely to our taste

This is a collection of serviced apartments and not a hotel. There are staff on site, but only for limited hours on certain days. There was no-one on site on my check-out day, Sunday, for example. There were clear instructions on how to get into the courtyard and how to find my room. The room was enormous and split in two by an original brick arch. There was air-conditioning and this needed to run 24/7 as there was a heatwave. Very quiet. I was only woken by what sounded like a tremendous thunderstorm.

The room was only sparsely furnished. Though it was adequate for me or a couple, it wasn't adequate for the four people the room was meant to house. There wasn't a double bed, just two single beds pushed together. I'm sorry, no matter how much you wish that to make a double bed, it doesn't. The shelf below the bathroom mirror was heavily rusted and the shower basin had no walls, only a curtain, meaning the bathroom was flooded after every shower, no matter how much care was taken. Although the bathroom was small, it was big enough for a proper shower cubicle. There was only one coat hanger from which trouser could be hung, though there were plenty of hangers in total. Might the air conditioning be more effective if the slats were to be angled into the room, rather than towards the window?
