Kitchen wasn’t very clean and the room/bathroom wasn’t tidied over our 4 night stay.

very friendly staff! location was good. The shared kitchen was reasonably well equipped. There was an area to sit outside and under cover near the roof.

the rooms were very small. shower temperature was a bit difficult to control. They are really missing out by not doing very much to make the roof sitting areas inviting - if they did something to make more comfortable and inviting, it would be perfect because it has a fantastic view!

Good location close to the bus station and the center whrre all the shops/stores/restaurants are. We could store our bags there and the owner was very friendly

The staff were so helpful, friendly and patient. This is a great hostel to stay in Baños as it is so close to bus, bars, restaurants etc. I booked an Amazon tour with them which was amazing and great price.

The curfew is a bit strange in a town where there are a few parties but it didn't bother me too much, just something to be aware of.

internet was very patchy and not much of an atmosphere… our room smelt really badly of chemicals (there was some brown stuff in a bowl under the bed that I think was causing the smell) meant we spent as little time as possible in the room as gave us a headache.

Good value for money, central location and well equipped kitchen.

Kitchen and items in it were not super clean, although that’s also on the guests (ie plates weren’t properly washed and had some bits of food on it). For some reason, we kept getting asked about payment and informed that our room was cancelled, but that was for the other room - we had to clarify around 5 times during our 2 night stay. In the morning when we had to leave early, even though reception should be open from 7 according to their note, the front door was completely locked and we had to call the staff to be able to leave - I think that’s unsafe in case of any emergency (for example a fire).

The staff and owners were all incredible. Super helpful and attentive! We really enjoyed our stay in Baños, and would definitely come back here again. The room was simple but all that was needed. Many activities nearby, and Hostal Timara can help with these & give the best prices.

- The walls of the bathroom were rotten with black mold - There was only one towel for a double bedroom. when we asked for another, the staff guarded the towels like a dragon protects its lair until the (friendly and polite) owner arrived - The staff tolerated a large group of girls partying in the patio until after midnight, therefore the night wasn’t very relaxing.

Just perfect for a short stay, bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. Staff were so friendly! Helped us rent bikes for the day and let us store our bag. Quiet at night, all good 👍

Everything about Timara Hostal was amazing! The owners are incredibly nice and very accommodating. They helped us out a few times and it’s a bonus they speak English. We stayed for about a week and loved it. The rooms are very clean, beds are very comfortable, showers have hot water. The kitchen is full of different cooking utensils pots and pans as well as a gas stove, fridge, microwave oven, and panini press. 100% recommend, worth every penny.

staff is very friendly, we felt both sick and he helped us with making some tea with local medicines. we felt that he was really looking after us. thank you so much :)

Strong Naphthalene smell in the room, there are actually naphthalene balls under the bed. They emit toxic gases and have been banned in many countries, should think of using something else.

Excellent service from hosts Roy and Maggie. Roy provided a warm welcome, gave detailed and useful information about activities as well as restaurants nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. The property had the added bonus of kitchen, roof terrace and music was often played during early / late afternoon which added a pleasant feel to my stay. I ended up booking an additional night as I enjoyed it so much and at such good value, I will certainly be back if I pass through Baños again!

Very helpful staff (thank you, Roy!) and really great location in the center of Banos. Close to the bus to take to Ruta de Cascadas independently and also to the two thermal baths! Well stocked and spacious kitchen, too. Was making strawberry/banana smoothies daily! Easy walk from the bus terminal.

Shower is only lukewarm and it would help to improve this because it does get chilly in Banos!

The host was nice, helpful, recommended us what to do and helped organize everything. The room was nice, beds were comfortable. There's a shared kitchen with all the equipment needed to make meals. Perfect place for chillers.
