The pool side was very nice

The standard compact rooms are quite small

The Bar Lounge, the swimming Pool, the Conservatory, the breakfast area, and the nice and quiet location just a few minutes away from the seafront and all the restaurants. The hotel is spotless and the staff is very polite and welcoming. I would not hesitate to stay at the Riviera Lodge Hotel again.

John and Nicki were very friendly and helpful and so were their staff. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The pool and outside terrace were great and enhanced our stay and the table games in the lounge were a nice touch. We enjoyed playing on the pool table and, in particular, the hot tub which was free. Breakfasts were excellent and served quickly. The beautiful Abbey Park gardens were within walking distance and offered a selection of games. We particularly enjoyed the crazy golf. All of the family enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it.

We booked the smaller rooms, which were adequate, but next time we would probably select the larger ones. There were no real issues with the bedrooms except that the mattresses are standard firm ones. My own preference would have been for a softer mattress, so the option of adding a soft “topper” would have been a welcome addition for me. Also, although our rooms were small, there would have been enough space for at least one easy chair. These are just suggestions, i.e. “icing on the cake”, not real criticisms. Although light meals were available at lunch time, which was great, evening meals were not provided which is a pity, but fortunately there was good food available not too far away. The beach and Abbey Park gardens are both within walking distance but, because the hotel is on an incline, it could be a problem for some guests with mobility issues. Some of us are in our eighty’s but this was not a problem for us. However, for less fortunate guests, there are plenty of car parking spaces in front of the entrance.

Everything this is a really well looked after hotel, where the owners and staff make you feel so welcome and as though nothing is to much trouble. The rooms are comfortable and have Everything you need. The friendliness of the owners and staff. The cleanliness of the whole accommodation. The pool area,and the pool towels. The location, though the incline back to the hotel was a little steep.

We found the room comfy and location excellent. 10 minute walk to the town. The coffee machine in our room was much appreciated. Breakfast cooked to order was delicious and the staff very attentive.

No bar frig in room A bit hot (no air-conditioning) and noisy - we were woken each morning by the next room's plumbing/flushing etc.

The staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. It was a lovely quiet location and not to far from everything.

when we booked it, it did say it was on the beachfront as that was what we were looking for. The owners have said that they have made sure this has been changed.
