we were going to be arriving in the evening and II tried calling to ask about check in, never answered despite multiple calls over several hours. tried messaging via booking app - no response. not even the next days.

Amazing place to stay. Warm, cosy, clean, friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to stay in such an outstanding place. We have traveled the world and stayed in many hotels and resorts from Whitby to Thailand and Bognor to Muscat! And this place has to be one of our favorites. What makes it special is that very rare thing.. they exceeded every expectation. From the perfectly warm an cosy room with free gin! The reading room with free Whisky... a nice 10 year old Glenmorange. To the fantastic food. especially that epic sausage sarnie! 😋 Even the bar atmosphere and drink selection was beyond expectations. We cannot praise the staff enough, great team, always busy, friendly and attentive. Well done, well done, well done! We live in Manila and will be back!

Very friendly, helpful staff. Rooms comfortable and cosy. Great breakfast. Loved it.

Heating was on all night on the room so it got pretty hot.

Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. Sunday lunch very good. Room lovely and warm. Plenty of parking.

Would have liked the fires lit as it was quite cold in the communal areas. ( it was advertised outside on a board ' to come in to the roaring fires'! ) 😂 Would have likes another chair in the bedroom.

Friendly staff and ample parking.

The cleanliness of the room at the cottage was poor. The carpet was stained and had not been hoovered, the blind was broken and the furniture had seen better days. A half empty bottle of something from the previous occupant had been left on the window ledge. Great scramble eggs and coffee for breakfast, but Salmon and Bacon could have been better. Disappointing for the money and looking at similar comments from other guests, confused by overall rating.

The shower in my room didn’t work and there were no staff to discuss this with and to check us out

The establishment is cosy, warm and welcoming. Excellent staff and superb kitchen. A proper English country pub. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The carpeting in the hallway of the cottage could do with being renewed. Probably best to get rid of it altogether as impossible to keep clean. Washable flooring would be preferable.

Quiet place set in a nice area

Small rooms, some staff more concerned with they're phones than dealing with guests.

The location was ideal for our trip away. The room was exceptional for the price. It was very clean and cosy, with a lovely bathroom and a great selection of beverages. Staff were very pleasant and friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely return.

Just a personal choice, but we didn’t like the feather pillows.

The Bel and Dragon is a most attractive and comfortable hostelry. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay there on 23 December. It was warm and welcoming and tastefully decorated for the festive season. We had an excellent dinner there that evening and an equally excellent breakfast the next morning. A big thank you to the chefs. The food was superb. After our stay, I told my daughter who lives close by in Haslemere, that I could highly recommend she suggest The Bel and Dragon to any of her friends requiring accommodation on visits to the area.

We stayed in the cottage in the car park. Whilst I understand it is impossible to keep a carpet clean, it is a little off-putting to be met by dirty flooring. A wooden, washable staircase would be preferable. I think here in the UK, we need to abandon the obsession with fitted carpets and adopt the habit of our European cousins of having flooring that can be more easily cleaned.

The food is excellent. A good range of options. My room was very comfortable. A desk was listed in the description but turned out to be a chest of drawers. I'd check this if working away.

The service charge added to everything I ate and drank was disappointing. The prices are already on the high side.

Lovely breakfast, lots of options. Catered for allergy issues. Evening meals and lunch excellent. Could not fault the options, presentation or taste. Actually one of the best nut roasts I have had.
