Great location, spacious, bathroom on ground floor for sandy beach trips, lots of outdoor seating

The view was nice from the living room. Please note this review is not for Les Troupes apartments which is where we booked and thought we were staying. This review is for Le Voyageur Apartments on Beach Road.

There was poor communication from our messages not replied to and we were never told until arrival that our booking had changed to another apartment elsewhere due to painting renovations. Our original booking was a 3bd 2 bathroom 2 storey apartment in a quiet street called Les Troupes with full kitchen and laundry etc. We were told the new accomm at Le Voyageur was an upgrade at no extra charge due to being waterfront location but thats all it was in our opinion. It was a very tired and dated 1970s 2 bedroom, 1 small bathroom unit. Being waterfront it was very noisy and not private. A leak under the kitchen sink which had dripped into the pots and pans and a bedroom blind that didnt work. No heat pump for heat or cooling. This unit could do with modernizing and upgrading for the price charged.

Months in advance we had specifically booked a 2 bed house with full kitchen and laundry for our last week in our favourite NZ town of Akaroa to conclde our month's holiday. Even on our arrival date this booking was again confirmed. However when checking in we were informed that we had to be relocated to a motel as they decided to pick our booking time to do some redecorating! This work would have also needed to be arranged well in advance, their calendar should have been blocked out to avoid this situation, or we should have been told in advance when we most certainly would have made alternative arrangements. We definitely would not have picked this upstairs limited facilities motel with no laundry for our final week before embarking on a cruise! We feel we were deliberately deceived.

Excellent location in the village - everything was close by. So quiet.........

TV and Sky wasn't set up and didn't work - no TV at all. Went to office to advise duty staff, and he said he would come and look at it. No one came so we had no TV news etc - a bit of a disappointment. If you say that you will fix a problem, do so, or at least let us know that you cant.

Location was great .. facilities were great ! had everything we needed.

It said there was wifi but we couldn’t connect because it wasn’t coming up at all .. I even typed it but still didn’t work!

This property is clearly run down. Kitchen adequate but cupboard doors need servicing, the wall heater is noisy, couches are old and soft, really for the money I paid, I was expecting a really nice place. I realise this is a managed apartment, but the owner has let it deteriorate. Never mind, it was just one night.

really cold inadequate heating we were cold most of the stay and when reported what heating we did have was not working their was little response or care also light in steep staircase did not work very poor shower pressure

Location to shops and waterfront.

Dismissive management and handling of their error in our booking. Wasting our evening following up on essential items that hadn't been replaced and rearranging our bedding options due to their error.

Layout was good and it was quite comfortable and pleasant.

The TV didn't work at all. Someone had completely untuned it.

Might expect a dishwasher in a full apartment but there isn't anywhere to put one. It didn't seem possible to open the door to the garden
