Beautiful setting and super accommodating hosts - it was a shame we didn’t get there earlier

loved everything about it! large bed was comfortable, spacious, child upstairs so made it feel like separate room, shower was amazing and a good size, would stay again if we ever return to Akaroa!

only suggestion I can think of is a night light option for child(ren) upstairs as our child didn’t feel comfortable sleeping without a lamp on, as he was scared of the dark and worried of falling down the stairs if he needed to go to the toilet at night.

The location was stunning, such pretty views. amenities were fantastic, cabins were cute and cozy, kitchen and lodge were great. 10/10!!!

The beautiful peaceful location with a great view after our three days of hiking the Banks Track was perfect. What was exceptional was the support and help provided by the owners when I had a car problem due to a bit of a prang. Dave could not have been more helpful and kind and went out of his way to ensure we could still get around and helped us get back home when the car was found to be unsafe to drive. Thank you for going above and beyond to help us - we loved our short stay at Mount Vernon Lodge.

Beautiful setting amongst the trees with a stunning view of the mountains. The room felt luxurious and had everything we needed.

scenic view. Clean shared kitchen. Not busy. The staff were thoughtful to keep the two lodging groups ( us and another family) rather than putting the us in rooms side by side.
