The staff were very friendly and helpful and had good suggestions for dinner. We also liked the location which was only a few minutes from the town centre. Breakfast was lovely as well and perfectly cooked poached eggs made my visit complete.
The room was quite small and because we were overlooking a traffic intersection the room was a bit bright at night.

The place is very clean.
Nice welcome from the owner but with an edge. Not a natural host but making an effort.

Ultimately you get what you pay for and this is a cheaper place that just about covers the basics.
Dreadful location on a road junction opposite a filling station.
Extremely hot despite heating being off.
Emergency lighting within the room cast a bright green glow over the whole room which when combined with the heat made sleep difficult.

Knob on back of bedroom door for coats would be useful.
Light bulbs too big for bedside lamps (protruded beyond top of shade) so a bit glaring.

Conveniently situated near the M6. Very good to have an accessible room on the ground floor.
There are clearly car parking issues here.
Whilst very clean, the sheets seem to have been washed in something one of us was allergic to.

We booked it last minute in the Easter weekend and the owners were superb! The rooms are big and clean, parking space just outside the premises and great breakfast. They accommodate our requirements (large van to park and vegan diet) very easily. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the Lake District

The room was lovely. Very clean and cosy, the bed was really spacious and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was also really good, you wouldn’t go hungry as you were offered more toast, more drinks, cereal or fruit to start which was really nice. Hosts were also very nice!
