nice pool monkey island was really cool

was disappointed with the experience overall, was not made clear before the booking that there are not any mammals in that part of the Amazon. The only animals you see are in cages / wings clipped (not very ethical) apart from insects and plants

Heliconia Lodge is an A+ experience for anyone looking for quiet, adventure, and wants to get up close and personal with the Amazon! The staff is incredible. the food is delicious.

One thing everyone should realize is that there’s not 24/7 electricity, the showers are not hot, and there’s no a/c. However, it was way more comfortable than I was anticipating, and cannot recommended this lodge enough.

Heliconia Amazon River Lodge offers not only a stay, but a whole experience in the Amazon jungle. As soon as you land to Iquitos, everything is taken in charge by the hotel: pick-up at the airport, transfer to the port, sail to the hotel and a full experience in the jungle with several activities scheduled for you every day. If you want to enjoy the jungle without caring about the logistics, this is the place to go

The only negative part that I remember, is that our guide was "reminding" us several times during our stay that we need to tip the people that were taking care of us. I found this approach inappropriate and impolite when you already know when to tip. On top of that, in a hotel like Heliconia which is already expensive, you would appreciate not having such remarks from the personnel

this place is amazing. it’s deep in the jungle so easy access to fishing/whale watching as well as jungle walks to see all kinds of creatures. the staff is very kind and helpful. also there’s a parrot named Pablo that hangs around

only bad thing is that the showers had no hot water

All food was, considering the location, very good and plentiful. The rooms were very nice, and the pool (maintained VERY well) was a great bonus.

I would suggest solar panels to keep the fans running when the generator is off during the heat of the day.
