for go into your studio you have to open a door for a hallway that is for you room and the other one is of the owners. dark and smelly. for a girl traveling solo doesn't feel safe. really small and the aircon doesn't work very well. I left the place one day before

Great Views and location

Getting the keys was a bit "different" they were away from the apartment in a lock box down some dead end stairs. The area was common to smokers and there was quite a lot of rubbish around. The keys had to be returned to this location too so you had to take your luggage with you when leaving. 300mtr walk.

The unit was very clean and in a great location. The furnishing was excellent and all of my basic needs were accounted for.

Picking up the key was dodgy, collecting it from a locked box at a public bicycle rack, just weird, and should have tipped me off to a creative marketing experience. The unit was grossly over-marketed as a studio apartment and as having a fully equipped kitchenette; a bar fridge, toaster and kettle yes, microwave no, so I had to buy all of my meals. My understanding of a studio apartment is bed, dining, lounge and kitchen in one space, with a bathroom. This was a sectioned-off second bedroom, bed and desk only, with an ensuite. The kitchenette was a converted laundry space in the ensuite. I took a photo of myself opening the fridge door while seated on the toilet... no joke. I was in residential school this weekend, studying in health care, so this really offended my core values. Not quite as much as the shared corridor with the owner who is a heavy smoker. The apartment is in a popular motel, so I just assumed that I was renting my own studio apartment, not a sectioned-off, converted second bedroom in someone else's apartment. I did not appreciate my 3 days of second-hand smoking. I used an unscreened window to ventilate my room and limited time with the air con on so I could keep my window open, and have a photo of a towel rolled up under my door to reduce my exposure to the second-hand smoke. If I were not out all day at school, I would have kicked up a stink and booked elsewhere.

The location is very good. not too far to walk to Brisbane center, rail or bus stops. Studio is small but bed is comfortable and unit is clean.

There is not tea or coffee supplied for when you first arrive. Although there is an electric jug. No toaster or microwave but there are plates and cutlery and small fridge and washing up sink.
