This hostel is in a good location between the bus station and the Zocalo on a quiet street. The decor is eclectic and the coffee is good. They also offer filtered water and a friendly environment for travelers.
The facilities were over-promised, with no 24-hour desk nor access to a restaurant and bar. If you pay additional for breakfast, then they will lay out some food for you to cook yourself. Toiletries are minimal, so travelers should bring what they need.
The owners also had planned a big party on Saturday night, which they didn’t mention until a couple days before. Thirty to forty guests and electronic music until 5 am! They apologized and moved us to a somewhat quieter room the day before, but we would not have stayed here if we had known on booking.

Best stay in Merida. Extremely friendly owners, after few words we felt like with best friends :) Beautiful, sensual, spiritual patio, nice hammock out there, where you can chill out after hot day, comfy bed, cosy basic room.

Very nice and flexible host and overall more a hostel vibe than a hotel. Friendly a bit more alternative guest. Price value was excellent.
Bathroom and mattress is pretty basic but still better than what I've expected for the price.

It has a nice garden and is decently located
On arrival there was nobody to welcome us so were standing outside for like 30mins.
At one point the wifi dropped out while I was on a work call which was not ideal

Awesome staff, bed was very comfy with a lot of space. Very close to the ADO and many cool markets and restaurants. Owner directed me to my favorite food in Mexico just down the road.
Should've booked to stay longer

The room is okay for the price.
I had the worst experience here and I immediately went to another accommodation.
When I arrived after about six hours in a bus, there was no one there. I knocked on the door, texted the owner. Nothing. Eventually I had to call him with my native number (for which I now have an invoice of €100). He told me the code to open the door to get in. When I opened the door, three dogs ran out onto the streets. The owner told me via the phone about the room and the facilities, and then warned me to close the door so the dogs would not get out. I told him the dogs already ran out when I arrived. He got extremely mad at me, screaming at me through the phone that I had to get his dogs back inside, they were like family to him and how could I have opened the door to let the dogs out !? Mind you, I didn't even know he had dogs, let alone that I should be careful opening the door to keep them inside.
Crying and with the help of a police officer, I got one dog back inside but the other two where nowhere to be seen. I tried to explain this to the owner on the phone, who then sighed that he would just have to come home to look for the dogs himself. He then texted me a Spanish Facebook group of missing dogs in Merida and told me it was my fault and that I should help him look.
I went back to the room I booked, full on crying and close to a panic attack. When I calmed down, I immediately booked another accommodation as I felt unsafe staying here any longer. Worst travel experience I have ever had.

Location is right in center, not far from ADO
Owner is very nice
Dogs are super cute
Room itself is spacious
No hot water in shower
For some reason tons of mosquitos inside the room

The location was convenient and the air conditioning facility did work, that's literally everything good about this place.
A lazy and ignorant owner- we reported multiple problems to him which he chose to ignore after responding to us with a heavy sigh. As a result we spent our 5 nights there with no hot water and a toilet that didn't flush. Room was not the cleanest, dirty floor and toilet, hairs on the bed when we arrived. Oh and the guy has 3 dogs, all of which are lovely but will wake you up at the crack of dawn with their howling and fighting.

We loved the hostel and had a short but very great time with the owner(s). Very friendly and cool, caring and lovely people. The hostel is definitely among our top 3 in Mexico. We loved the style and would always come back. The use of the kitchen is very handy, the patio is very cosy, the craft beer sold by the owner is cheap and great, the little souvenirs they sell are unique (no pressure to buy!), and the free coffee with reggae music and the welcoming friendly dogs made our mornings! Gracias por todo, chicos!
Nothing to complain at all!

It's hard to find the right door. The front door or house could have a hostel sign.

Hosts were very friendly, as well as the 3 dogs on the premises were very easy to get along with. Sights are within walking distance from the accommodation. The mattress in the apartment seemed relatively new
Unfortunately everything is very old and you can see that. A little confusing was that it said we had to pay for breakfast on Sunday (although we had breakfast included) as Sunday is not included according to the host. But there was nothing like that on Booking. But then we got it and he wanted to clarify it with booking. On 2 nights we had loud music playing across from the apartment at 2 a.m. and it didn't seem to stop.

It is a beautiful house. The staff is very polite and friendly.
Make sure to bring insecticide and bug spray. Mosquitos are very hungry in Mérida.

Excellent location, very safe and enjoyable walking distance to the centre - and only 2 mins walk from ADO bus station :) Rooms were clean and all you needed, comfy beds (sheets could be updated) great shower, great AC and decent Wifi. Nice courtyard to sit in, free drinking water and breakfast was fruit and eggs - great value for the price. Cool artwork too and lovely hosts!
Its a little rough around the edges so won't suit all tastes (peeling paint, antique feel to the place) but perfect for a couple on a budget! Kitchen had everything you needed to cook but was smelly/felt a bit unsanitary and there were 3 very friendly dogs which we didn't mind but some people might.

Location, beds and wifi is very good. Staff is also very nice. The breakfast was good on the 2nd day only, the first day was sunday so they had only milk and cereals.
Bathroom in the dorm was not cleaned since I arrived so it was quite dirty after the first day. The kitchen doesn't have water so it's hard to do anything there. The second bathroom also doesn't have water.

Check-in at 7pm.. Nobody notice us before standart check-in(3pm) so We had to go there to hotel And then just go somewhere to wait 4 hours more.
Bad experience, especialy when it was 40 degrees outside. Okey, We recieved 1,5 dollars compensation :)
When We cameback at 7pm, We just wanted functionaly aircondition. It wasnt.
The receptionist tried to turn off And on whole electricity. It was helping just for few minutes And automaticaly turned off again. For a while receptionist went out of there for a night.
So i had to go out of room to hall turn off And on electricity for every 15 minutes all night to stay alive in this hotel. It was literally nightmare :(

When we arrived we were told, that our reservation is not valid, because somebody booked all the rooms. After conversation they let Us stay in a room, but I it was so far form being clean.
In conclusion, even if you are looking for something cheap, don't consider it.

The easy & competent check in & check out. We arrived very early (10am) and left quite late the following day (7pm) and it was never an issue leaving our stuff there. Eduardo, who mostly is at the reception desk looked after it as it was his own. He was such a lovely receptionst and really made our stay. Room was also quiet, big enough for two and bed was small but comfortable. Location is perfect as it is just around the corner of the ADO station and only a short walk away from the City Center (10min). Would stay there again 😊
