The casa is a short ten minute taxi from Regua and its train station, but it’s a world away from everything. The pictures don’t do it justice—the Casa is a small luxury house surrounded by vineyards and nestled near the foot of a valley with incredible 360 degree views from the Douro in the distance to the mountain churches of Lamego. Experience total quiet and peacefulness with beautiful grounds, great wine and an attentive staff (Andre and Ana went above and beyond to make it feel like home and cater to our every need). You can spend days just sitting by the pool or relaxing by the vineyard with the house wine, leaving only for dinner booked by the house staff.

nothing! it’s not walkable to downtown Regua if that’s a disqualifier, but we took the train and were totally dependent on taxis and had no problem whatsoever.

Very cosy environment, with hosts that treat you like family. Great wine and snacks (cheeses etc) that you can order anytime. Great views, peace and quiet.

This is a very special property where you feel like you are staying in the countryside at someone's beautiful private property. It is very peaceful, tastefully appointed, and the hosts are lovely and accommodating. The pool area is really special and the breakfast, which is included in the room rate, is really delicious and elaborate. We wished we had been able to stay longer.

Internet service is a bit spotty by the pool. No issue for us -- only good to know for people who must work while traveling.

The place was amazing and the staff was really nice. André was exceptionally good at taking care of us and helping us make dinner reservations. The locations was amazing - right in the middle of fields with wine and very close to the main vineyard.

Good breakfast and great vineyard location

Wonderful daily breakfast. Anna and Andre were very attentive making sure we had everything planned out each day. Peaceful location close enough to wineries and other attractions but also far enough away to escape the hustle of the towns.

the place is gorgeous and very small, only 5 rooms which is what you pay for. the rooms and the whole place are very pretty. The staff is very helpful, especially Andre who will go the extra mile to be as helpful as possible.

the staff is only there from 9 to 6:30 which is a bit disappointing given the price tag. they don’t serve lunch and the snacks they propose are very overpriced. the owners don’t seem to be very careful about maintaining the place well (both pool umbrellas were broken for instance). it is a bit difficult to move around if you don’t have a car, as the place is 1h walk for regua with roads that don’t allow you to walk there. the staff seemed very overworked and clearly understaffed for everything to do in the property so it feels like the owners are interested in extracting the maximum value from the guests while keeping their costs as low as possible

very nice place with beautiful view great stuff

From the moment we stepped through the door we were treated as if we were special guests of the family, never has the term 'my house is your house' been more true. We were greeted by Andre, a local from Lamego who was more helpful than Michael J Fox in 'The Concierge' - he attended to our every need, booked restaurants, vineyards and taxis - whatever we needed help with and he was very knowledgeable. On our second night the family who owns the vineyard and accomodation invited us to join them as guests to a an impromptu wine harvest dinner, and provided us with many courses of the most amazing food we had in Portugal - cooked on open fire by a Lisbon Chef visiting for the evening. They were equally hospitable later the next evening when we arrived back to the hotel sharing their incredible food for us to sample as they hosted guests. While not every stay would guarantee the same experience, what I can say is that they generously shared their produce a glass or two of their wine, port by the glass (without charging) and their time for conversation every evening. This is the real authentic Duoro. In terms of facilities, they are new, the rooms are so tasteful, the pool is perfect to cool off, only several rooms means an intimacy that cannot be gained from larger luxury hotels. The local village is quaint and a mere step from the vines directly. We were so glad to visit during harvest season with so much going on and activity in the hills. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night... Everybody says when they love a place that they will go back, but for us this stay it was so perfect we might never return because want to live with it as a cherished and untouched memory forever! Thank you to the staff of Quinta de Casa Amarela and their generous family for this experience - it was so much more than just a beautiful boutique hotel.

A gem of a place to stay! only a few rooms, we had the place to ourselves. The hospitality was wonderful and felt very welcomed during our stay. The breakfasts were fantastic, rooms very modern, well designed and comfortable. The pool area was wonderful - we really had the place to ourselves! Super location for visiting great places and towns nearby.

staff was overly accommodating. the wine tour was so intimate and with the owner himself. and so knowledgeable. other vineyards, including some of the large more know vineyards could not provide such an experience

quite, intimate, only 4 rooms on the property. the host help us with everything, restaurants, daily activities.

Beautiful, comfortable rooms. It feels more like staying in a big house than a hotel. Staff are extremely friendly. It's just far enough from town that you feel remote, but close enough that it's a short taxi ride. Awesome pool. Took a lovely tour of the vineyard that the hotel is associated with.

We loved everything about our stay here. Amazing view. Affordable. Very peaceful and the 2 people who work there were wonderful. We only stayed here for 2 days out of our 11 day stay but I really wish we would of stayed here longer. Check out was at noon and we stayed until noon because I didn’t want to leave. My daughter stayed at a nearby 5 star hotel and I liked our place much better the herbs and I am glad I made the choice to stay here.

I honestly can say that there wasn’t anything I didn’t like about my stay here.

Perfect. Beautifull villa. Spacious. Vinyards in and around. The owner (Gil) is extremely nice, and the very helpful team (Andrey and Anna) attends to every need with lots of care and smiles.. .and great landscape... One of the best places we have been to

Exceptional place, surrounded by vines. Amazing pool, nice view, nice room, very private. This is probably the best place I had in my life so far. Exceptional.

Mattress a bit too firm.

The place is an amazing little gem! It is a little family run place that only has four rooms, which makes the place feel so cosy and genuine. We felt right at home, it felt like visiting a friend with the service and facilites of a luxury hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the Douro valley. It was never crowded, we even had the pool to ourselves most of the time. Service by the little team was fantastic and felt genuine. We even had the pleasure of getting a wine tasting and tour by one of the owners himself. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Breakfast was delicious We enjoyed the location and the staff who went out of their way to advise and give us a feeling of welcome guests.
