Clean newer facility, friendly staff, nice pool.

Great place to stay with the family

Very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Construction ongoing but we were not in our room often during the day so not an issue. Beautiful property.

Room was excellent but you had to cross a road to get to the very small beach which had nothing to sit on or provide shade. The pools were nice enough but it was uncomfortably windy most of the time. You had to make a daily request if you wanted water. We were denied a checkout extension past 10 a.m. though the hotel seemed far from full

Amazing stay. The hotel is new, so everything is "shining." We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment, and it was terrific. The only concern is that the restaurant at the complex works until 3:00 pm, and after that, you have to go out or call for a food delivery.

The half of the resort that is completed is nice. Rooms are new, spacious, comfortable and well-appointed. But I wouldn’t stay here again. First of all, half the resort is still under construction. So there is literally no time you can be at the main pool in the sun without very loud construction noise, except for weekends. Additionally, South Kihei is known for flooding. This resort is very near a couple points where water flows to the ocean. It rained hard for 24 hours and completely paralyzed the roads around the resort for 4+ days. The result was that every trip that should have been 10 min by car took 20+. And if you wanted to walk anywhere (it’s not a super walkable part of the island), you literally couldn’t get anywhere in less than 45-50 minutes. It also forced the closure of the ocean side pool, beach and only dine-in restaurant for 4 days, knocked electricity out for 4-6 hours and caused a water main break that disrupted water for 6+ hours. Heck, one night it rained lightly for a few hours and there were huge puddles everywhere blocking traffic around the resort the next morning. This is going to be a huge problem for them until they make serious upgrades to the roads and drainage around the resort When we asked about being compensated for the serious disruptions to our vacation, we were refunded $100 of the $240 in resort fees we were being charged…. For the pools, restaurant and beach access that we couldn’t actually access for more than 80% of our stay.

The rooms are perfect and the pool area is abundant. It’s a beautiful property. The issue is there is major construction of additional buildings and the roadway. This causes excessive dirt to blow into the pool area and heavy equipment noise all day. It is not currently a peaceful poolside experience. This is not reflected in the pricing. And though not their fault, the main road closure requires detours and it is not walkable to anything (restaurants, shops, etc.). Be prepared to drive.

Found dishwasher not up to par for the project. Washer dryer was difficult and confusing to set. Doors in bedroom collided with each other. Restaurant set too far away, necessary to cross busy street to get to it. A lot of construction in room above ours. Staff were very nice. Comfortable setting.

Service was excellent. Part of the hotel is still under construction so there was some noise, but nothing terrible.

Probably the nicest vacation suite we've experienced. Fresh, modern, spacious, well equipped - it was everything we needed. Spacious balcony. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Pools were clean and fresh and not crowded. Exceeded our expectations. Would definitely choose this property for our next visit.

Nice, modern and clean. Located little outside of Kihei so no restaurants or shipping close by. Also, the pool slide was closed for most of our stay. Someone didn't return the only volleyball that had so we couldn't play pool vball. I'd think these should be easy amenities to provide for customers paying $1000 per night.

This is really a beautiful property that’s close to everything from beach to shopping. The kids loved the amenities and the staff were wonderful. I’m looking forward to my stay!

We had a wonderful stay. It is brand new and still under construction so we did ask to switch sides of the building and they were able to accommodate us and did so so nicely. It is also on the N end if Kihei and this can be quite windy!!! The rooms are great and the pool is amazing. The beach that you can walk to is beautiful and overall this is a great place to stay. The staff was all so accommodating and friendly.

This place was perfect for our family vacation. The staff were always attentive to our requests. They were also very friendly. Highly recommended especially you have little kids as the amenities are amazing.

Great customer service and friendly staff. The hotels are so clean and beautiful. It feels luxurious. Would definitely come back to this hotel resort.. Love the pools and hot tubs.

Rooms where we stayed have strange smells, which could be from the bathroom tile.

Property was beautiful, loved everything about it. Looking forward seeing the completion of the remaining property.

Property looks new and well maintained. Rooms are nice and spacious. Issue I had with them is they moved the room cleaning to three different days till the last day I was leaving. Not only that, the trash from the corridors wasn't picked up till I made a fuss about it. They replied to the text promptly but the job doesn't get done. I also complained to the front desk, but was nothing done. Problem was I guess no one's room has been cleaned so they were leaving the trash on the hallway. But they did credit me $150 for inconvenience.

The facility was gorgeous. Staff was excellent. Construction underway and noisy. No ammenities such as beverages, restaurants, etc...

There were many ants and spiders in the bathroom and some were in the room like walls. The AC was really old and I thought that the tank was passing when I turned the AC on. However, the surrounding environment was good.

For just 100 bucks a night it was worth it. The amenities are older but you get what you pay for

We chose this hotel because of the cost. We needed to sleep and then get up at 3AM so we werent so concerned with the amenities. The pool looked kind of gross. Our first room had a door that didnt open, so they switched it. The one that they switched it with smelled a bit like mold mixed with bleach, so we aired out the room. The elevator, which we only used because we had heavy suitcases, kind of felt like it was about to fall apart. The balcony was pretty large and was nice for sitting out and having a drink after a long day of traveling. I would recommend this hotel only to someone who just needs a bed to sleep in and is moving on afterwards.

Not great. Mosquitos everywhere in room. Felt dirty. Didnt let kids use pool. Grounds were lovely. Couldnt get PS3 games as were always checked out even though we didnt see many other kids. Booked it last minute without much research. Would not stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aston Maui Lu.It was so relaxing & most of all the rooms were so cool with the AC.I would recommend this hotel to all my family & friends.

Aston Lu was extremely inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. Being a budget traveler, I was expecting very little but all my expectations were blown clear out of the water! Clean rooms, friendly staff, great location. No need to pay more in Maui- stay at Aston Lu!

This is a very nice place, extremely well located on the Kihei beach. The Maui shaped pool, set in nicely landscaped courtyard, was fun. Good value relative to the other nearby places.

The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. Upon seeing my room, my initial reaction was not good. It had a musty smell, and everything in the room just felt old and dirty. One of the buildings on the property was literally in a state of decay (broken windows, piles of debris and broken furniture, etc...) It had an ancient TV, although it did have a PS3 in the room. However, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a private beach on the property. It only had a few chairs under palm trees with rock walls separating it from other nearby beaches. It had a great private secluded feel to it which was a pleasant change of pace from other larger properties on the island. That combined with the price and friendly staff, is why I am giving it 4 stars overall. If you are looking for a modern room with all the amenities, stay somewhere else. If you want an inexpensive hotel off the beaten path, check this place out.

The place I had booked was full to include a few extra family members. So I booked this place which was close by to where I was staying. Outside of a good location and outside looking like a resort, it wasnt quite what it was perceived to be. The place wasnt nice at all. Service was decent, and the resort fee is a waste of money to pay for a very subpar place. There were probably many other spots around I bet was a better place to stay and worth what u pay for. This place was not worth what u pay for. I booked a 4 night stay and the extra family that was suppose to stay there already left after 1 night. Do your homework!

Hotel is being sold and closing forever in Sept 2014. The 26 acre site will be developed into-- wait for it--- TIMESHARES. Too bad. The best rooms are 25 ft from the beach -- fabulous views, Sorry that the owners could not rebuild the late 60s hotel into a great resort. Wonderful grounds. The land must be worth a fortune.

Very old. Rather smelly. Some bugs. Depends on your expectations. You get what you pay for.Aston should doze the whole place and build a new resort. The location is wonderful.
