I enjoyed the room, clean which is super important to me.

I reserved a room by the pool. When I checked in the guy said he “ upgraded” us to a lake side room. So we had to walk across the parking lot to get to the pool and back. It’s November so it was cold. Wish I would have said something. I will next time for sure.

This is a beautiful hotel right next to the water. Wonderful amenities and breakfast.

Clean, comfy beds, great view of Lake Huron, decent hot breakfast with wide variety.
Our biggest complaint is poor climate control. Rooms are long, with heating/cooling unit on one end and bathroom on the other. Since there is no ducted air movement, the heat had to flow across the room through the open bathroom door to keep it warm. Even worse, our heater started to howl and clunk after midnight, so I lost a lot of sleep, making my next day less pleasant.
Also, we had to walk quite far along outside hallways during a chilly autumn night to get to our room.
Finally, although the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy, the exterior could use a little cosmetic maintenance.

Was an ok hotel that had a nice view but when I was sitting on the balcony all I could smell was other customers smoking their marijuana. The beds were hard. Breakfast location was in an inconvenient location. You had to take outside stairs in the elements to get there. The selection of food for breakfast was good with a few hot items. Overall the stay was just ehh.

The room appears to have some upgrades - very nice. The only downside side is the fact that we had no soap or Kleenex in the room.

The room is dated, room was clean. Samore from cleaning staff, did a good job cleaning the room prior to our stay. However, the water from the tub was leaking on to the bathroom floor (not ideal for a bath, you could get by showering if you are not staying for long) and toilet seat was wobbly. The room had a balcony with carpet, which was nice. We have stayed at other hotels in the city, this one was not our favorite.

Had a portable dehumidifier in the room that had to be emptied a few times. Not sure what was going on. No one there seemed to know about it.

Poorly soundproofed, had a room with a window into the hallway outside, basically no daylight. Felt I was in the basement. Was supposed to get an upgrade. Told me they were full. Had to buses. It read vacancy outside. Mackinaw city feels like a tourist trap. If you go offseason, don’t book ahead, go to one of the many motels.

Beds were comfortable, and lake view is very nice! However if you take a hot shower then open bathroom door smoke alarm goes off, then it stopped and after ten minutes went off again! Then the next night we are watching tv and it goes off for no reason! Called operator and was told maintenance will be there shortly after ten minutes my husband took the detector down and took battery out. After 45 minutes maintenance never showed, we had to call operator and tell her forget it we took batteries out and going to sleep!!!

Hotel is located close to restaurants and ferry. Great breakfast. Older hotel and rooms were dated. Lots of noise in the mornings if you are a light sleeper

We enjoyed the lovely large room overlooking the bay! The continental breakfast was appreciated too.

Husband and I stayed one night. The room was fine and appreciated elevator to second floor room though walk with luggage to elevator from car was hard.
Worst was there was no on property place to buy a soda except the machine that took my money and gave no soda. The office denied any responsibility and told me I could walk across the very busy street to get my soda somewhere else. By that time I was in tears and the clerk gave me a warm bottle of water.
Overall not a very pleasant stay.

Loved the beach view.
Did not like- peeling paint, siding loose, dirty halls, housekeepers didn’t clean bathrooms or change sheets, beds were short sheeted, breakfast was the same EVERYDAY!

Walking distance to all stores, restaurants and ferry to go to Mackinaw Island. Beautiful!!!will go again next year. And walk the Mackinaw bridge. Which they do every labor day. Love it

First off, the room was extremely dated (not the room photographed on hotels.com) and full of nasty cobwebs and spiders (killed 7 of them) along with someone’s old dirty beach towel left in the bathroom. We had to clean the place up the first night we arrived. But, it’s in an extremely convenient location that’s walkable to most attractions in mackinaw city.

I would definitely stay here again! Perfect location to walk to restaurants, shopping and the ferry. Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk employees were friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast had lots of options. Indoor pool and hot tub were an added bonus!

It was a great stay. Loved the balcony and private beach. One recommendation, in the suites, have a microwave.

Location is very convenient to all amenities/activities in the town proper; that is, walkable or bike riding.
Exterior seems to need repair. Wood trim is cracked, peeled or fading.

Did not live up to its description. Room poorly equipped, deck and view very limited. Elevator to 4th floor at only one end of large building - while we were on the other end and used a rickety staircase. Overall a lousy experience.

Place in terrible disrepair, TV didn’t work, staff was rude, coffee maker wasn’t working, and bugs in room. Musty smelling and not super clean. Told management and they could care less. We left early and even after asking for refund they refused. They got my $1,000 for two nights but never will again. I hope this deters others from the same terrible experience we had as well.
