Easy and quick check in. Just was not told about the check out time and about any amenities including if breakfast was included or an extra cost. It was very close to the venue we were visiting which was great. Nice and quiet.

Overall it was a nice stay. I arrived at night and there wasn’t a light switch near the door so I had to navigate in the dark across the room (a king suite) to get to a light. There was remaining debris on the carpet and the countertop in the bathroom still had some dried something or other from the previous guest smeared on it.

Bad:
-Upon arriving to our room we found it dirty as if someone had snuck in or squatted for a night. Informed the front desk and they accommodated me.
-I could have sworn the price of parking sign outside didn't match the inside (24/day out 29/day in) but I may be wrong.
-Walls seemed very thin as I got to listen to extremely loud conversations from the adjoining room at 2am during a weeknight.

-Bistro had great breakfast and drinks
-Good location and in walking distance to plenty of food or activities
-Beds ok

Most of the staff were really friendly. Unfortunately our air conditioning wasn’t working in our room and we ended up having to talk to a very rude employee who acted like this was not her issue and was less than kind or helpful. We did end up moving and the manager in the morning was super nice and friendly, making a right out of a wrong.

Actually, I did not stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown because the event I was coming to GR was cancelled at the last minute. However, Amanda at the Marriott was very helpful in allowing me to cancel my stay well past the refund deadline given the circumstances. I will rebook there when the event is rescheduled.

For the price this hotel, we were disappointed. When we arrived there were dirty plates sitting by a room a little down the hall from us. They were STILL sitting on the floor when we checked out almost 24 hrs later. The public bathroom in the lobby was filthy. The worker who checked us in was clearly high as a kite, eyes red, and loopy when trying to have a conversation. We expected better from a place that charges 350 a night. Definitely disappointing.

Excellent place to stay and the restaurant inside the hotel the food was excellent. Love how everything was walking distance and how it connect to van andel arena.

Nice and clean room. However, the room was not ready at 3pm. I checked in around 430, and was informed of the delay. They did give me 2 complementary drinks for the 10-15 min wait. So it was not a bad moment. Big and Clean room, though the freezer in the fridge showed it had not been defrosted in a long while. Loved the extra towels and wash cloths. You also look great in the bathroom light. Across the street from van Andel arena and food was great too. I loved the bistro in the hotel.
