Our room's AC made an awful sound the first night of two that kept waking us up. The property didn't order coffee or keep it stocked properly so they didnt have any this morning. It did have a cool vibe with the tv area / bar and pool table. I ordered one draft beer at the bar and it was way overpriced. I ended up spending almost 12 dollars, for ONE draft beer. Pretty steep. My son wanted a small bag of M&Ms and a small juice. That cost me almost 7 dollars. Also pretty exorbitant. Considering the room was 200$ a night, one beer costs the same as a 6 pack in a grocery store, and a small snack was marked up probably 350%, ordering coffee properly and maintaining the room's heating/cooling equipment shouldn't be that much to ask. 2nd time staying at property. Not sure we will stay there on our next visit to town.

The room was dirty, smelled like urine, and there was black mold in the shower. I requested towels and blankets through the app and did not receive anything.

Hotel needs some upgrades-looking old. Nice staff. Called and asked for extra towels might after checkin. Never got them. Had to go out to my car for a forgotten medicine at 1:30 a.m. No one was at the desk. No need for key to get back into lobby or on the elevator. Scary security.

Hôtel feeling a little worn. Only one elevator working the entire weekend. Leaking ceiling in common area and felt a little disorganized over all

The hotel was pretty clean. I like the pool table and the comfortable setting at the first floor. The only problem is that my room was facing a main road, and it was pretty noisy at night. The staff told me that they will change the room for me the next night, but I never heard back from anyone so I ended up staying in the same room for my entire stay.

The staff was unfriendly and seemed very put out if you asked them a question. The place seemed clean but the very slow drain/plumbing in the bathroom started to gross me out.

Do not stay here. 10 cars, including ours, were broken into overnight right in front of the hotel. There was no security overnight and the person at the front desk was no where to be found. According to management, this was not the first time this happened. Our stay was less than stellar prior to the break in. The hallways were unkempt (a used bandaid laid in our hallway for an entire day), the staff overnight was less than friendly and seemed unphased that we were up at 3 am in the morning dealing with police and glass all over our car. In addition, we told the cleaning staff we were leaving for the day and would like our room cleaned. When we returned, the room was still dirty. Really disappointed, as I always try to stay at an Aloft when traveling.

We truly enjoyed our stay as it was convenient to the University campus and the property and room were clean and excellent price. We were close to restaurants and it was easy to find. The only complaint would be parking as it is very limited and if you do not arrive in the evening early it can be hard to find a spot.

Pool area was dirty, bugs, funny smell. Rooms felt very basic. Fire station next door. No emergencies during our stay but could be annoying to hear sirens in the middle of the night.

This is a stylish new moderate budget hotel. I appreciated the many contemporary design touches. The desk staff I met were beyond courteous to genuinely friendly. They were also efficient which was also appreciated. Everything in the room was good, including the HVAC and thermostat, even the blinds worked well, with some comparatively small problems. The mattresses were very tired and should have been replaced. The sliding door to the bathroom took exceptional effort and strength to move. And the mini-fridge had lost all its shelves inside. Overall, though, we were quite happy and would stay there again.

If you’re staying here and have a car to park….BEWARE there are specific places in the garage to park or you will be towed. Some are labeled No hotel, some are labeled residents and some not labeled and then lastly there are some labeled “hotel” in red. They will tow you and they won’t notify you even with tag hanging in car. That was very disappointing. I got in super late and sent to the garage to park and didn’t get a heads up on this. So letting you know since front desk may not tell you and there is no sign at check in or the front of garage. Front sign says you’re in the right garage! The tow company says it happens a lot but Aloft management isn’t responsible since it isn’t their garage. And there is another sign on the side of the post but not the main entrance. Unfortunate and costly part of my trip.

neat, funky, clean hotel
I did arrive after midnight to check in and the door was locked and I didn’t see the front desk person anywhere. So I kept pushing the buzzer for help and waited for about 10 minutes and then I see the front desk person get up off of the couch and come and open the door.

We received fantastic service upon arrival and throughout our stay. I mistakenly reserved the wrong date via a 3rd party reservation system which was resolved quickly & resulted in a lower rate! Enjoyed nearby shops and only a short ride to UNC and Franklin Street.

Close drive to UNC campus. Room was nice. Hotel was clean. Staff was helpful. We had parking issues the first day as they were working on garage but otherwise good experience.

Had a nice stay here. Staff is courteous and professional. Parking was okay during my visit, but there are only a few spaces in the closer lot, so in busy times can be away and challenging.

My husband and I got the room because we. Tickets to a concert, and decided that we didn’t want to drive all the way back to hickory after cocktails and dancing-we reserved it in advance (1week)The room was very small, it was however decorated nicely very modern. The Bluetooth speaker would never connect to our phones. When we arrived a posted sign in the elevator stated that the hotel didn’t have television service available at this time. None of the rooms had TV. I couldn’t even log into my own Netflix or any other streaming services even if I wanted to. For the price I would have liked to known this in advance.

We needed to be close to the hospital and this was nicer than we expected. I was very comfortable and was even better than I thought. We would stay here for recreational purposes too not just hospital stay in the future.
