The reception area was ok, and the lady assisting with the check in was helpful. However, I was deeply disappointed with the rest. As we stepped off the lift, we were welcome a not so clean looking passage way leading to our room. The room looked absolutely nothing like what we saw in the photos when we made our booking. It was an old and tired looking room that we were allocated. It just looked like it desperately needed some renovation. The bathroom was worse. I will definitely be not booking here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

It was pretty good besides the fact that they don’t have irons in the room and the WiFi is slow inside the rooms but besides that everything was perfect

This was unlike anything we've ever experienced The photos on web is not at all what you get. It is a filthy, smelly place. No water in rooms, no ice available..towels have holes in...just disgusting. I have complained just after our stay but nothing came of it....never ever again!!!

Stay was good staff very helpfull and friendly.

Staff were friendly! Check in went oke We walked up to our roam prostetutes everywhere , just dirty roam in general. A lot of noise! And then the biggest thing not a safe neighborhood at all just stay at the coast don’t go to the city

Stay was good but 3rd floor foya dirty with litter of paper thrown from other floors. Parking arrangement bad. Hotel full then you on your own look for public parking at night. No compassion.

Not what I saw on the pictures. Room was too small. Bathroom was nothing like on the pictures and the area was too busy.

Came to run Comrades Marathon and needed a budget hotel as I have other away races this year. The Albany offered everything I needed at the price point I had to work with. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room although small, was clean and had all I needed.

The hotel needs serious renovations. The staff also need client service workshop. Not friendly at all.

Room was dirty. Electricity was tripping if more than 7 times we had to request room change. The new room no 65 had no workable door lock. When we leave the room the see ity had to come and open the door because the card was not working. The lock itself behind the door was dismantled indeed an eye sore. Tha bathroom was in a horrible state. This hotel should never be 3 star!!!! It should not make 1 star. I've got photos to prove.

On check in said they could not locate my payment though i had phoned ealier to confirm if all was in order there was one gentleman who is always sitted by the door doing nothing, he doesnt greet nor acknowledge guests.Staff is not friendly except the housekeeping ladies,other than that stay was good.

cockroaches, I couldn't sleep, u said u have 20 channels we only viewed 5, no free Wi-Fi,I also dont like the smell of your hotel, the pathway to the parking its not safe

Very central and walking distance to the cricket ground, but I didnt feel safe leaving the hotel after dark. I think the hotel has recently been renovated and the facilities are now really nice, but its reputation with locals doesnt seem to have caught up yet. There is nowhere nearby to eat in the evening, and no facilities to store your own food (e.g. fridge).

No room service, disappointing!hotel needs a serious spruce up. Very old hotel, foyer does match rest of hotel.

The room and service was ok but the tv was not functional, spent 1 and half day with a tv with no volume even after reporting. The tarven at the side of the hotel appears to be dodgy. It does compare well with other 3 star hotels I have been to.

It is an old establishment, with many appliances having seen better days an in need of updating. The rooms are ok, but some gadgets don't work. I had to change rooms to get to one that had almost all things working. Access to their recommended parking is quite disconcerting at night. It's via an alleyway that is shadowy with some dodgy looking people hanging about. But during the day it's fine as the car park is used by the general public coming to work in the city. The staff go out of their way to help and are friendly. Housekeeping staff do all they can to keep the rooms tidy and clean, always smiling and cheerful. I had free internet access, but I only managed to use it a couple of times and then it only lasted a few minutes before things went offline. The hotel is central as well as being close to Durban beaches making it an ideal base for leisure (holiday) or business. Overall, let me just say, it did the job, provided me with a bed during my time in Durban.
