Overall the room was nice and I had a good visit. Check-in was easy and the room was clean when I arrived. Room ran a little hot and the AC system was hard to control though.
Someone in my group was given a room that was still occupied but the front desk was able to resolve the issue.

We booked at Box House for a Xmas weekend in NYC and we wanted a place that could allow us to explore the surrounding neighbourhoods and jump in and out of Manhattan with ease. We could walk to the 7 line and Hunters Point Terminal easily and the surrounding area had cozy coffee shops and great local shopping.
The desk staff were great - housekeeping was very responsive (there was the daily game of “what towels will we or won’t we have”) and the property great. It’s an old factory so expect ambient noise from other suites / doors / pipes, it’s not loud just “there”.
I will ask this to the ownership group of the hotel - what’s with the prison grade toilet paper? I’m not even kidding.
There’s a lot of good with this property, a few tweaks and it could be great.

I was told when I arrived that I should have received an email from Expedia (note I booked through here not Expedia) that my room was no longer available and I would have to find a different place to stay.
It was super weird and random. It was 9p at night and I was in town for business so I politely said they must have another room available, plus I never got said email.
And just in general was super perplexed how that's even possible and wouldn't you call someone for a drastic change to someone's plans instead of a random email through a third party???
Anyway, they let me have another room, problem solved, but wouldn't you just solve that by giving someone a room in the first place?
All to say, it's a very nice place to stay in lovely Greenpoint but they have to figure out their communications

This hotel is in keeping with the location in trendy Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It is modern warehouse style hotel. very informal and perfect for short stays in the area. Surprisingly poor service from the front desk staff on arrival, but otherwise the stay was enjoyable. The room was a decent size, positively large compared to what I expect in Manhattan, and comfortable enough. Decent no frills bathroom.

From the lobby to the room decor and design, everything is unique and inspired. The location is a quiet spot in Greenpoint, with excellent restaurants, street parking and many other amenities nearby.

There were some great things about this hotel, but small things could've made it better. There was one young gentleman at the front desk who was great. Everything is about people and how they treat you. There were a couple of female front desk personnel who were surly. They initially gave us a bad room with no windows, but then we got a new room with windows a couple of hours later. The breakfast restaurant guy was great.
We went there because the price was okay for the area, and the rooms were big. Would I go again, maybe if the price was right. No, with it's current pricing. Also, I absolutely hate it when cleaning personnel wait until the end of the day (like 4:30 pm) to knock on your door to see if you need the room cleaned. We had the please clean our room notification for several hours (10-3) and the cleaning folks kept walking by and did nothing.

Beautiful hotel but for the amount you’re paying a night here I’d expect an exceptionally clean suite. I stood in the duplex suite and our toilet had pee stains and was not clean! Dust on the floor under beds clearly floor has not been swept or moped properly!

I asked for hangers I never got. There’s no full-length mirror. The room was dark. The bed broke. Not a great experience.

The property has a very interesting design, and is clean and well kept. It’s artsy and they’ve done a great job or blending old and new. The rooms are gorgeous and spacious. The staff is helpful. I just wish there were better options for parking but that’s typical of anywhere in New York.

Call to understand room location in case there’s an event (to avoid noise). Offered $75 upgrade to avoid noise, i.e., they knew it would be noisy. Poor value.

Desk service not nice. Safety is a concern for women traveling solo. Desk should not announce loudly to you what your room number is as they hand you a key. When I told them that, they were rude and disrespectful to my suggestion.

We were visiting a friend who lives in Long Island City so we only stayed here for a night. Wish we could have stayed longer ! Loved the hotel - the room was huge with a separate living room space and large king bed. The balcony had a lovely view, bathroom was big. All in all I was very impressed and would stay again. Close to transit, easy to get Ubers. Basically can get wherever you need to go in the city easily. We did drive and found easy street parking close to hotel which is a huge win in the city.

I wasn’t capable of imagining a hotel room without ANY significant natural light (a tiny skylight 20ft up doesn’t rate), I.e., no windiws. NOW I will always have to worry about this. UGH. if a room has no window, it really has to be mentioned as a feature. Just gross! Maybe some people like it but: no! Otherwise place nice good location, but JFC: you have to mark that there’s no windows!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Box House Hotel. It is a beautiful little boutique hotel in a great old building. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Having guest laundry was very beneficial as we had no luggage.

I extended our stay for two additional nights after initially booking three nights because of the convenient location. However, in hindsight, I wish I had only stayed for one night. If you value excellent customer service and a stress-free experience, I recommend avoiding this hotel. While the beds are comfortable and the areas are clean, I believe that we could find a similar average price for better service elsewhere.

The Box House was easily accessible by car with free street parking. Staff were welcoming and polite. The decor was spectacular, the room clean and comfortably furnished, with eco-friendly toiletries. The in-house restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced. Good location in Greenpoint with many nice restaurants and groceries within walking distance

All of the staff was very friendly, and gave us recommendations for where we could eat in the area. The room was on the small side, but we loved the style. Our room was upgraded to a king sized bed so that was a nice surprise. The bed was very comfortable. The room was extremely clean. Nothing but good things to say about our experience.

Amazing location, has everything you need. Gym, rooftop terrace, staff are amazing and rooms full of character and really quiet at night. Slept so well and Angelica went above and beyond to help me with a late check out after my work finished late. Would highly recommend x
