Solid hotel for the price and in a really quiet and nice area. The noodle place next door was good too, even if a little overpriced.

Friendly staff. Excellent room and very close to subway station and bus stop. Enjoyed our stay and recommend it.

Wow - what a great hotel! Beautiful rooms, lots of attention to detail. Everything was perfect and what a location- right in the heart of gion and a street away from the river. The bath tub / bathroom were my favourite in Japan

Safe, beautiful location on a quiet street but close to everything. Clean, comfortable, and quiet room with good amenities. Coffee, tea, ginger ale, and fridge provided. A 7-11 just around the corner, which we used for breakfast and many other items (including Pokémon cards for my son!). Couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay in Kyoto.

Great location fantastic staff, clean and hygenic. We weren't keen on the breakfast. It is a short walk to Starbucks for veggie wraps.

Lovely clean quiet gem of a place. Very intimate away of the crowds. Room and bathroom well designed to maximise the space. So glad we chose to stay. Staff were wonderful too.

This property is on the smaller size. The room has a nice design, but lacking counter space (think of no room for laptop). It is on the outskirt of gion so it is about a 10-15 mins to center to gion tourist area.

Boutique hotel with good service and newer facilities

Beautiful, cosy, comfortable, convenient and unique. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be there for one of the hotel’s Maiko evenings and it was a highlight of our stay in Kyoto.

Super nice!

Clean, quiet, helpful English speaking staff. Comfortable beds, air conditioning. Room had pot for hot water, tea and coffee. Small fridge with ginger ale. Terrible WiFi. Couldn’t make WiFi calls at all. Room was small. Towels were thin. Bathroom sink area was terribly dark. I used a flashlight to try and style my hair. Sink area is tiny. No room for 2 people’s toiletries in the sink area, . We wanted a western style breakfast, which required a 3 minute walk to the sister hotel. It consisted of a green salad with tomatoes, cereal, plain yogurt, white bread, jam, butter, little packets of cheese, hard boiled eggs, pineapple, orange slices and bananas. This hotel is in a good location for walking to shopping, restaurants and local sights. The breakfast was our least favorite of the 5 hotels we stayed in during our Japan vacation. I’m guessing the price reflected the location, more than the amenities. If that’s the case, I would choose to pay more and have better amenities. But the hotel certainly had everything necessary, just not what I expected.

Excellent location, clean property and the staff were incredibly helpful with all of our needs navigating taxis and dinner reservations. I would absolutely stay here again.

The location is unbeatable. Service is friendly and responsive. My room was clean and quiet, and had a private garden view. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice, clean rooms in an amazing location! We liked the extra room touches like fresh whole coffee beans and a grinder in our room to make our own fresh coffee in the morning. Staff was polite but not always available to help at busy check-in time.

Good location, however WiFi connection kept dropping off like nonexistent, I told the hotel staff but staff wasn’t aware of issue hence no fix, we had to constantly use our own data staying here. Breakfast is repetitive with no meat so very plain. No onsen available here.

This is a fun eco conscious small hotel. Funky style! Friendly staff. Rooms are large and nicely decorated. Easy to walk to nearby station.

I didn't expect this hotel to be so good, but we were blown away with it. The location is perfect and you feel totally immersed in the Japan of old, the amenities and ambience of this hotel reflect the Gion area perfectly, we will definitely book this hotel again when visiting Kyoto.

Perfect in every way. A great room with an amazing bathroom. The Japanese breakfast was delicious. Easy walk to many temples and markets. One of the best hotels I have stayed in. We will go back!

The hotel is wonderful. The staff is wonderful. I just knocked off a star from the amenities because the included breakfast was not a lot of food. It was lacking in that we actually went to eat out after we had the breakfast. That said, the breakfast was really tasty though and everything was wonderful.

The staff here are very kind, helpful and polite. If you're worried about a potential language barrier, there isn't one! The hotel is also super clean and in walking distance from the train station and the main attractions. Definitely try the traditional Japanese breakfast offered here for 2000 yen per person.
