It was so quaint and homey. The smells of cinnamon, and breakfast aromas. Breakfast is not until 9 am so your morning is leisurely.

The Mathes House was lovely. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was wonderful and did everything to make the stay perfect.

I can't say enough about our stay. The Mathis house is beautiful. The staff is welcoming, friendly and accomodating. Rooms were well appointed,clean and comfortable. It is a 5 star experience. Breakfast was amazing!

This B&B was very nice with a comfortable setting as there are only 4 rooms available to rent. When we arrived at the B&B, there was a baby shower in the late afternoon and another shower on the following day. Check in was very informal with one of the assistants providing the needed information along with the room key (yes, an actual key). The breakfasts that were served were very good.
One comment that we had was that we felt the owner of the B&B should have been a little more interactive in meeting the guests (i.e., asking the guests the five w's and one h).
Also, the bedroom window had a moon shaped top to it that needed covering as there was an outside light that beamed into the window. A suggestion was conveyed to the owner.

Loved the Mathis House! Great little place to stay…. Comfortable room with tons of amenities…. And the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable! Breakfast was yummy and the teas are exceptional as well! I really highly recommend the Mathis House !!

Honestly, everything about the Mathis House is wonderful. The home is magnificent and well maintained, keeping its original Victorian beauty both inside and outside. My room was super comfortable and charming. The best part about my stay was engaging with the host, Vicki. Vicki went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and welcome. The breakfast in the morning was hot and delicious, and I really enjoyed eating in the tea room which is decorated in old world charm. I will definitely be back. Oh, and those scones!!! Super delicious! Thank you. for a wonderful stay.

Great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Great property if you like tea parties and other events. The description for our room indicated it was perfect for a romantic getaway. While the room was in the back of the house, we didn’t feel that it was very private or romantic. In closing it was a cute and authentic vintage home.

Cozy little bed and breakfast, however we only got the bed and not the breakfast. The kitchen was closed on Christmas Day. We were disappointed that this wasn’t mentioned during booking or that the price we paid reflected the lack of the breakfast experience. The host did accommodate our small pet and had 2 warm scones available for us in the am. The location was very festive and a lot of attention went into the decor. Over all satisfied but would have appreciated a cheaper rate or advance notice of the breakfast not being included.

I love all of the Victorian charm and elegance and the breakfast is always delightful and delicious. I choose to stay at the Mathis House any time it is available and I am in town. My husband loves it also. The owner and staff are wonderful. Just a wonderful place to stay. They really pamper you.

A special place, not comparable with other places. The equipment ist composed with a lot of love. But especially showering ist not so easy in a high bathtub with curtains all around. People are very friendly, breakfast ist served and tastes very good. If you love Victorian style, you should go there.

This felt like a home - everyone was nice that worked there, food was great, place is historic with lots of charm, tea room and whole house decorated. I would stay here again over a hotel any day of the week.
