strong shower with hot water. separate toilet. large room.
basic and dated room. only beds and no sofa or seating. curtains let in a lot of light.

friendly staff, price

great location close to seafront, and had parking
Not exactly a warm and friendly welcome, checked in at
the bar and the only thing which was said to us was
‘that’s £70’…. room was basic however caked in dust..
bathroom great size but water temperature was a bit
hit and miss… not terrible value for money but does need
a good clean.

The location was fantastic for us, far enough from Margate that it wasn’t rammo but close enough to walk and enjoy the waterfront on the way. The room was cosy, excellent water pressure. Staff very friendly and able to recommend different places to us. We came for my partner’s birthday, and we loved it so much we’ll be back for mine!-
Not being able to eat in the rooms can make your stay a bit expensive as you have to eat out so it would be good to factor this in as we weren’t aware of this prior to booking.

large room with comfy bed - pretty much all you need for a one night stay! staff friendly n helpful and busy pub on ground floor
a bit further out than expected and really difficult to get a taxi in Margate unless you book an hour in advance, so be prepared for a half hour walk each way. Decor is very dated but room was clean n comfy

The Hussar is a great location as it is close to amenities

Fair sized room and huge bathroom.
Good clean room with a welcome pack.
A friendly greeting and introduction to the owners.
Information available for the local area.
Room needed a little tlc.
1 blown bulb and one hanging loose in the bathroom.
A little noisy at night with water flowing in pipework.
2.5
Room and bathroom were spacious. The hotel is about 15 mins walk from central Margate but there is a good bus service that stops just outside. Easy to check in/out.
The pillows smelled of cigarette smoke. The decor was a bit tired.

Staff good, simple access, room adequate
The room was too warm even without the radiators being on.

impeccable service and I was amazed by the kindness of the staff, I felt pampered I will definitely come to you again👍

The location wasn’t too far from our destination on Margate Beach. Passable for a last minute booking.
When we first walked into our room it was absolutely freezing, we noticed that heating wasn’t on at all (didn’t even work either) baring in mind it had been one of the coldest evenings for a good while. My partner had been struggling with her joints due to fibromyalgia so walking into a warm / cosy room is perfect but we couldn’t wait to get out and head off to where we planned to go. The bed wasn’t the comfiest, the bed itself looked to be a very buttered bed pulled from a Hostel type set up. The shower tap (turning from tap to shower head) wasn’t tightened so we could only have a bath, the shower head function was just not feasible as one of us would have had to of held it in place for it to work from the shower head instead of the tap. The price for our stay was £72 to be quite honest it was extremely disappointing, no way near value for money, shamefully disappointing.

Central location, plenty of free parking outside the main building, pleasant pub/dining area , rooms spacious, good size bathroom.
Advertised as breakfast, but in fact only a bag with croissants, jam , apple , continental at a push , left in room .

Very nice helpful people, nice cosy rooms with bathrooms with bathtub (always a huge plus in my book). The matress was very comfortable, I slept like a baby.
Too bad there was no breakfast possible at the time I was there.

Bed was very comfortable dont think it was worth £90 few little things
It said breakfast included in price was shocked to come home at 11.45 to see a brown paper on the floor with apple croissant jam cheese and carton of orange juice

Thai food was excellent
Breakfast was shocking - stale croissants and over ripe bananas left outside the room the night before in a brown bag. Also had yoghurt which was at room temperature and not chilled So inedible.
Room not cleaned during stay.
Not much evidence of ‘hotel’ staff. Had to pick up keys from behind bar on arrival. No one around at departure
2.5
closeness to relatives
no cooked breakfast and window in brother in laws room were drafts

Very comfortable room, excellent food, lovely staff. And an easy level walk along the coast into the town centre.
The new owners, Michelle and Dave, had only been at the Hussar for seven weeks when I stayed. it was their first experience of running a pub/hotel and they were learning on the job, eager to please and to find out what works for their guests and what doesn't. Any criticisms I had I made to them, and I'm sure will have been addressed, so I'm not about to repeat them here!

I sang, I bought drinks... D
Promises, promises,.. I did ask on the Very first night.. I'm new to the area.. Could I possibly have a tourist map... Still waiting... Believed I'd booked breakfast... Oh dear.... Continental.... And just as we have left Europe..... A indicator that we are English... And a full English... Is always preferred.

The location was good
1. The rooms were not next to each other
2. The showers in both rooms didn’t work properly
3. In one room (room 5) there was loud flushing sound regularly throughout the night making it difficult to fall asleep.
4. There was a party of some sort the night we stayed with loud music till late.
5. Breakfast on booking.com was marked as included. It did not state that breakfast would be continental and given in a brown bag the night before. When asked why we were given such a breakfast we were told did to covid restrictions. There are no such restrictions in hotels at present. I booked this hotel specifically because breakfast was included.
6. In the morning I wanted to ask for more long life milk pods to make tea in my room. There was no one to ask. No one at reception or downstairs. I also wanted to ask if a hot breakfast could be provided but there was no one to ask.

convenient for where i was working and parking available
breakfast was supposed to be between 8 & 9. however, there was no one around and the doors locked. so although breakfast was included, it wasn’t available at 8 am when I tried to get it.

The breakfast was very nice.
The mattress was so lumpy I woke feeling Iwas a pin cushion

We were there for a couple of nights to visits friends in the area and after a meagre breakfast the first morning we were introduced to the new owners on our second day with a much improved breakfast and apologies for the state of the place. They are very keen to bring the standard up and I wish them the best of luck.
The place looked tatty from the outside and the same on entering. Tv in our room wasn't working and was told I would find a no by exit door to arrange for someone to come and fix it! Also tv was filthy and so was skirting boards and all round edge of carpets.Windows in bar/lounge area once again looked totally neglected!
