Our room was luxurious and well designed. Great bedding. Beautiful bathroom. Libby, the lodge manager, was friendly and full of good advice. She even reached out ahead of time to make sure we had dinner reservations in town. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Everything was great, but Matuka is more of a luxury B&B than a "lodge". Worth knowing that ahead of time so expectations are appropriate.

Amazing stay. Lovely bedroom, sitting area, and huge bathroom with luxurious spa tub, walk in shower, heated towel rack, plush towels, and great smelling shampoo/soap. Beautiful setting with well landscaped pond, Mountain View’s and even ducks in the pond. Great welcoming snacks and really excellent breakfast…best tasting mushrooms ever! Friendly, attentive hosts as well.
We could not ask for a more comfortable or personalized experience/stay.

We loved our stay at Matuka lodge. Geoff & Libby were fatastic hosts and the breakfast made by Libby was fantastic each morning. The lodge is a beautiful location to spend time and a great place to access Aoraki / Mt Cook National park.

the stay was delightful - lovely peaceful spot with beautiful views- everything you could want and more - lovely hosts - very clean and especially enjoyed the ducks in the water and jumping trout

Beautiful property, spacious, comfortable and warm. Jo and Pete were absolutely wonderful, the best hosts I ever encountered in all my travels. They made us feel comfortable and at home

We loved everything about it. The scenery at the lodge and from the lodge was extraordinary . Jo was the best host ever and a beautiful warm person.
Our room was gorgeous, complimentary bottle of wine when we arrived, beautiful cooked breakfast each morning or the option of different cereals with fresh fruit, and great coffee!
Fire was going 24/7 and the lounge was so comfortable. Everything was perfect thanks to Jo and Pete. Our go to place when we return!

Great hosts Jo and Peter. Delicious breakfast and beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the stargazing and sitting out by the pond. Lovely, relaxing experience.
