Well kept, old charm. Clean and classic.

The heater created a loud bang every time it kicked on which kept me awake all night. There were not enough toiletries in the restroom, and the towels looked used and worn. Overall, it was a very poor experience.

Beautiful lobby, helpful staff & comfortable rooms. Great place to stay for Steelers games & during the holiday season.

You can't do better than the OMNI William Penn in Pittsburgh. This is a premier hotel with old style class. Great location, wonderful in house restaurant.

Lovely stay. Room was comfy, bedding nice.
Staff was very accommodating. It’s an older hotel but still has a lot of style.

We stay here for overnights a few times a year and really love it. The service is wonderful and the lobby is a great place to hang out, work, read, have a drink or coffee. And the rooms are always very well appointed and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, loved the history and the display cases with old pictures and memorabilia. Overall room conditions were very cozy, especially the bed and bedding. Room was very clean. Bathroom had a couple of issue the staff might need to check on. The water pressure in the shower was great, but the tub didn't drain so you wound up standing in 3 to 4 inches of water by the time you were done. The toilet ran and squeaked for a considerable amount of time after you flushed it. Closing the bathroom door would drown out that noise. And, the sink faucet dripped. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. However, we stopped in Palm Court restaurant and the Tap Room, and the staff in both were not very friendly. At the Palm Court, those servers basically just seemed annoyed that people were there trying to order foods or drinks. Service was slow as well. Mellon Square Coffee was a highlight, we stopped in there in the morning before hitting the road home. Their coffee and tea were very good, along with a nice selection of pastries and snacks. Good ambiance and atmosphere, friendly staff.

Very nice hotel. Very nice and helpful staff.
However I was over charged 635 dollars and am having to wait 3-5 business days for a refund. I’m lucky I had a little bit of money left. However this could have happened to the wrong person and this needs to be addressed asap so it does not happen to anyone else. They charged me before confirming if I made the charges. (Someone else ordered a bunch of stuff on my room number) ziliana I think was her name she was extremely helpful and even got us a ride back to the airport for free! She made a mistake and made up for it she was great! When I spoke to the dark hair woman manager she had a bit of an attitude and seemed frustrated that I was upset with what had happened. (Who wouldn’t be upset if there account was charged 635 dollars wrongly?) they took 75 dollars off of my room for the inconvenience so that was nice. If you are going to stay here I recommend having a lot of money to back you up in case if you get over charged for holds that should not happen. However the mistakes the staff did everything to help me get everything I needed to back. Extended checkout time, payed for a taxi, took 75 dollars off of our stay. Overall a great hotel and great staff I would just make sure to have plenty of funds before staying here.

The hotel was beautiful but we requested a suite with a door between the bed room and main room a few before the night we arrived we did not have one and spoke with front desk they said they would check into it never heard from them again they are lucky I could not hear my husband from the other room snoring .

To say we were disappointed is an understatement. It's a beautiful hotel but to me is outdated. Our room for what we paid for it should have been bigger in my mind. The bathroom was barely large enough to turn around in. It just was not up to par for my expectations when I booked the room. It would have been nice if the lady who checked us in told me we had to use the key card to use the elevator instead of us standing there looking stupid that we couldn't get it to go up. The Tap Room restaurant was boring and understaffed. We left after one drink. When we returned to the hotel later in the evening, we tried to get a late snack and drinks at the Terrace room and was ignored by the wait staff. They walked by and looked straight at us and kept going, no acknowledgment that we were there at all. We sat there for 15 minutes or more and decided the hell with it. We tried to get into the speakeasy but it was too full to let anyone else in. We will not stay here again

I love the William Penn. I’ve stayed here before and every time I’m delighted by the staff and the history of the building.

We were allowed to check in early which made our stay much more enjoyable. Valet parking was convenient. Our room was clean. Breakfast in the hotel at Terrace Room was delicious.

Awesome water pressure, and plenty of hot water. We were able to make the room as cold as we wanted, something often restricted by other hotels.

Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Good walkable town and great location to walk to places.
Did not like needed to pay for WiFi to use in room or join their rewards member. During this day and age most places do not charge for WiFi

I’m not accustomed to staying in higher class hotels- this was a splurge for one night to celebrate an anniversary. The lobby was stunning, the location was awesome. We were disappointed with our room since the toilet wasn’t working from the time we arrived & when they sent maintenance up, he said, “you clogged it?” And we laughed because we absolutely did not… it just was old and didn’t work. He “fixed” it and he was really nice. It worked for a flush or two but then didn’t. We were going out and wanted a romantic evening so we didn’t bother calling back. Staff was super busy and when we let them know at checkout they were unapologetic. We were kind, didn’t want to be pushy. So we just said thank you and left.
Overall it wasn’t a bad experience, just not worth the money. You’re definitely paying for the lobby & the vibe, not the actual utilities/room.

Bad service
I have been charge almost $560 extra and double charged for the parking at $45 per day for 4 days parking, I have called and disconnected with 3 different staff pretending they the management but they have no clue, they keep refusing to correct and refund the extra charges.

The hotel is fantastic. Beautiful and welcoming lobby with an excellent coffee shop, elegant restaurant, and cool speakeasy. Great location. No more than 15 minutes to PNC Park and The Andy Warhol Museum. Plenty of good restaurants within a 15-minute walk as well. Very easy to walk the city. Overnight parking was very affordable.

The room itself was fine but not amazing. The reason for my poor review was the way we were treated when we tried to check in. We arrived after check in time expecting our room to be ready but were told we would have to wait another 40 minutes because the room wasn’t clean yet. We weren’t in a position to wait around so they suggested that we accept a downgrade to a double bed since that room was ready. We wanted the room we booked so we asked for a manager.
The manager’s response to us is why we will probably never stay in another Omni again. He basically told us that he could put us in whatever room he wanted even though we had booked a king bed. This is not the way I expect to be treated staying in what is regarded as a luxury hotel.
We did end up getting the king room but 2 hrs after check in time. The manager said he would call us when the room was ready since we had to leave and come back. He never actually called.
It really soured the experience. I’d recommend staying somewhere else since there are so many options in downtown Pittsburgh and I really hope that this Omni gives their management a re-education in politeness. I would have never taken the attitude he took with a customer. Really not cool!

Loved it great stay.

Arrived and was told parking options were in garage across street but wasn’t told there was construction in the garage so we had to carry our luggage up 3 flights. Bed was horrible, I had back pain because of this, when I brought it up to the front desk they just shrugged. The hotel lobby it self is very beautiful and there’s good places to eat. The hotel staff did not make me feel like a special guest.

The room was not ready when we arrived. Check in time was 3pm and we arrived at 3:15 and were told our room was not ready yet. We were offered a 2 double bed room instead of the king bed we reserved. After a bit of pushback they were able to find a room available for us. But it should not have taken us pushing back to get the room we reserved. Other than that, our stay was very nice.
1.5
The architecture of a magnificent hotel and the rooms and service of a mediocre one. We really wish the attention to detail in our experience had matched the historic lobby but it’s clear that it’s part of an large chain bent on cutting corners.
Our complimentary drink ticket at check-in had so many restrictions that it didn’t feel like a perk. Valets ignored us every time we approached them. Rooms had awkward layouts, bare bones amenities (tv was at least fifteen years old), and inconvenient smoke alarms (the steam from the shower set it off because it was right outside of the door).
All in all, I’d stay at better maintained spots like the nearby Kimpton.

Its a nice hotel, but they put us in the wrong room at first and made us move. The room they moved us to was smaller and not what i paid for. They gave me a $50 credit to our room, well i just got my statement and they did not have that on there. For the amount of money i paid i am not happy at all.
