Great stay in some nasty weather with my dog. Fish and chips were outstanding and the service was brilliant!

The room and en suite were extremely small.

This inn is quaint in a way that makes it perfect for anyone visiting Grasmere. It is not fancy, but is very comfortable and has excellent staff. I would gladly stay here for a week or more.

The staff were absolutely fantastic. Very accommodating. The restaurant serves wonderful food, with all special requests adhered to. A great break away.

The check in was simple, with clear instructions provided in the room. Access to good quality WiFi was again simple. I ate in the pub for breakfast and dinner, it was easy to put my dinner bill and associated drinks on my bill. All the staff were friendly and relaxed, despite being a busy bank holiday weekend, which is a credit to them. All the food was fantastic, served hot and without too much of a wait. The staff were on it and keen to give you a good stay. I would definitely stay again!

I am a repeat guest. Lovely cozy pub in a good location with decent sized car park and short walk into Grasmere. Excellent food. Lovely staff

A fantastic location. The views from the rooms were stunning. Generally peaceful (slight road noise, but nothing to worry about at night!). Breakfast was wonderful. Very tasty and good menu. The pub itself is very charming. Open fires, great food! Perfect location for a stay. Bus stop not far from pub with links to Keswick and Ambleside/Windermere. Footpath directly opposite. I feel the room was becoming a little tired but generally good quality. Grouting missing from floor tiles in bathroom, extractor fan seemed to not work. Could do with better places for bedside plugs for phone charging. Comfy bed. Slept very well.

We stayed at the Traveller's Rest Inn for one night recently, and were impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the location and the extremely high quality of the meals we were served. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal, and were really impressed with the service, presentation and quality of the food. Our breakfast the following morning was equally as good, with a very substantial and tasty full Cumbrian. Our room was comfortable, with pleasant decor, but I would also say that maybe a little more attention to detail is required with the cleaning, as we did find a few grubby marks on the doors in our room. However, this did not spoil what was a very pleasant stay at the Traveller's Rest.

Fantastic stay, food was excellent, rooms cosy and very clean. Staff were wonderful and very friendly they even dried our swimming kit in the boiler room over night 😃. Great value for money and we will definitely return.

Just enjoyed a 2 night stay here. Very friendly & helpful staff, the room was clean, bed very comfy. The food was very nice & reasonably priced. Great location within 10-15 mins of Ambleside, Windermere & around 20 mins to Keswick. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic place to stay with stunning views. The staff were so lovely, helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us welcome and ensure our stay was enjoyable.

It's a very lovely place in the midst of the Lake District with hiking trails and Grasmere (20min) very close by. The building is quite old and very charming and the room was cozy. The didn't dine here, but the pints wear tasteful. Breakfast was good, but some could have been more fresh.

We had a lovely time, the room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the inn is very good, and there are many places to visit nearby.

Very nice stay at the Inn. Ideally situated for easy visits to Grasmere, Ambleside & Keswick. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast, plenty parking, dog friendly and reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend

This was my first trip on my own since my partner died in September. I needed to bite the bullet and see if I could visit they Lakes on my own. I have to say it was a huge success. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. In fact to my surprise, even though I was alone in a different place, I slept really well. My dinner was absolutely delicious, I opted for a venison burger and after that didn’t have room for afters. After dinner, I felt really comfortable and relaxed in the lounge reading with a drink. I pre-paid for breakfast and the menu was really nice. I decided to have porridge as my 'cooked' option and helped myself to a slice of toast and glass of orange juice from the buffet table. The hotel offers great value for money, and I would definitely recommend the hotel to others and I would definitely return again as a 'solo' traveller.

We were here less than three weeks after our last visit. Our trips get closer together. Obviously, we love it! Everything is perfect- especially the staff. Thank you.

Brilliant break, lovely place, excellent food and the staff were lovely. Our dog was made to feel so welcome.

Had a lovely stay room was clean bed was a bit to hard for me and we kept knocking are knees on the sides of the beds could do with something on the corners food was lovely location was picturesque but we did get quite a bit of traffic as it was on a main road

What a wonderful couple of days myself, my wife and our beagle have just had at the Travellers Rest. Nothing is too much trouble. All the staff were so friendly and happy to help. The food is excellent and I would highly recommend calling in even if its just to have a drink in comfortable surroundings with spectacular views. Thank you

It is small enough where staff make you feel welcome. Lots of character. Some great walks nearby although a bit of a walk to centre of village.

The staff are excellent. The food is superb well cooked and presented. Just far enough out of the towns to be a nice quiet country retreat.
