Fabulous location, chic property and exceptional service. We were upgraded into a corner Junior suite with a wonderful view. The hotel is conveniently placed, close to great shopping and several restaurant options. We loved our stay and will return!

The overall stay was very good. The areas for improvement:
- bed is lumpy
- restaurant hours are too limited for lunch
- bath tub is small

The hotel itself is quite nice, but the attention to detail was disappointing. I booked in August to come watch friends run the Marathon. A month ago, two friends wanted to join so we decided to share the room to save a bit, since the prices are quite high for this particular weekend. I emailed and asked that the two names be added to the reservation, and was told that had been done. The day before my stay, I was emailed and asked to confirm my personal info and driver's license info to expedite my check in. Fine. I arrive, and... I have to go over all of that info again with the front desk. Kind of annoying, but ok. The room itself was nice, but there was one bath robe and two towels. Annoying, considering I had confirmed multiple guests would be here a month ago. With the exorbitant prices, this was super disappointing. I guess these things aren't noted down, or staff don't communicate.
And finally, the "resort fee"... It is a junk fee. No, I do not want to pay $25/day for Wifi and a newspaper, neither of which I will use. Kind of embarrassing for a hotel claiming to be 4*.
Still haven't received my final bill, over 24 hours after checking out. Super odd for any hotel, 4* or otherwise.
It was a nice hotel, and the staff members I spoke to were very nice, but I see no reason to rebook the next time I'm in Chicago.

I had an incredible stay at Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff was warm and welcoming, even offering some great restaurant recommendations. I stayed on the top floor, where I was treated to stunning views of the city—yet the room was so peaceful, I couldn’t hear a single city sound. The electric shades made it effortless to create a cozy atmosphere at night, and the room itself was spotless and beautifully designed. The bathroom featured a luxurious tub, which added to the relaxing experience. Plus, the location is perfect—everything was within walking distance. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Chicago!

I love everything this hotel has to offer. Staff were friendly and processional. Property overall was well kept/clean. Room was spectacular with super comfortable bed. Beautiful spacious patio. The gym had wide selection of functional equipments.

A top notch hotel entirely worthy of 5-stars.
The staff is kind and helpful - always willing to go a little extra further to help you out and make your stay better.
The rooms are very high quality, with comfortable beds, plush carpet, and every modern amenity.
The restaurant is excellent with an interesting mix of menu choices - all of which (I dined there three times during my stay) were very good.
The Sofitel facility is luxurious and very well-maintained, but the outstanding customer service is what really sets this hotel apart.

Comfortable hotel in the core area of Chicago. We appreciated the location of the hotel. It was near many key sites in the city but located in a quiet area. There were many great restaurants and cafes around the hotel. The room was comfortable. We especially enjoyed the bed. The staff was friendly and kind throughout our stay. It was a great place to stay in Chicago.

i can probably count the amount of reviews i’ve written in my life on one hand. i feel very compelled to give the highest rating one can give for a hotel stay. truly an excellent experience all around. the hotel was perfectly clean, beautiful and well cared for but not obnoxious. staff/service is exceptional and i the beds are 10/10. hope to be back sometime.

I'd been dreading having to wait a few hours to check in because my flight landed early morning. Requested early check-in around noon, but was pleasantly surprised that the room was ready and I was handed the keys around 9. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfortable. There's minor wear and tear in the bathroom sink and on the toilet seat, the only things I can knock points off for.

We had a tough time checking in as hotel could not find reservation. We spent over an hour hotel and Expedia talking to each other and finally the issue was resolved. Not sure what the problem was. I even had to get involved.

I’m truly frustrated with my recent stay at the Sofitel Magnificent Mile located in downtown Chicago. I chose to spend a week there with my family, expecting a 5-star experience for over $300 a night, but what we got was far from it. Honestly, the service felt more like 2 stars.
I was extremely disappointed with the cleaning service—they couldn’t even manage to remove a nail from the shower for the entire 5 days of our stay! Arthur at the front desk was helpful, but his Asian colleague was unfortunately rude and indifferent.
We had issues with the room not being cleaned until late afternoon, which was inconvenient, so we requested service after 5 PM. Despite this, the front desk ignored our request and sent staff to knock on our door repeatedly, even though the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on. This was incredibly frustrating and left us feeling like our privacy was completely disregarded.
To make matters worse, even after the house keeping manager assured us she would address the issues, nothing improved. The nail remained in the shower, and the coffee in the room wasn’t replenished.
Given the circumstances, I sincerely hope management takes this situation seriously and considers reimbursing us for our stay. I trust that this feedback will be addressed accordingly.

The comforter was dirty and they didn’t have an extra sheet between the comforter and the sheet at the bottom. When the staff came to clean my room, they didn’t replace the coffee amenities and I had to call for more amenities. The restaurant in the hotel was really good but service was horrible. They took forever to seat us, forever to take our order and it was freezing in the building. Did I mention it’s $84 a night for overnight parking. Nothing was complementary and they didn’t care that I complained. Never staying here again.

I love this property. However, I had to stand in line 20 minutes to check in. This would not be as troublesome, except, the Concierge was present the whole time and not assisting with Check in, either at his own computer/station, or at the unused one of 3.
Also, when you know that your hotel is full, staff it fully. There were 3 possible check-in stations/computers--not including the Concierge's. (With that one, there should be 4 possible stations). Staff them.

This day and age there are so many hotels that struggle with perfect service and accommodations. The Sofitel did not disappoint! Easy and stress free with great staff from valet, front desk to restaurant! It was perfect for a change!

Excellent sized very comfortable and well appointed rooms with beautiful views. Location is hard to beat with the best high end stores around the corner as well as multiple choices of restaurants. The lobby restaurant had very good food for a quick breakfast and lunch and the service was excellent. Nice sized gym. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful property , very clean and polite staff . However our room wasn’t ready at check in and we waited for over a hour . I was offered a no wait for an upgrade fee of 50$ night !! The room not being ready I should not be offered another room at a higher rate !! Was very disappointed.

Room was great with nice city views but one of the elevators smelled like urine. We also received an $88 facility charge for staying there on top of the reservation. I thought that was ridiculous since we didn't use anything but the front door, elevator, and the room we already paid for.
