Bargain one night stay in comfortable city centre hotel. Breakfast quite nice. Will use again.

Great location and lovely breakfast. Hotel is quite dated in parts and the one lift is very slow. No one available to serve at the bar in the afternoon, despite a call being put out. Had a good rate for a city centre horel.

Hotel overall was good taken into account on the price. Our room was the older type in the anex. Have stayed before and had much better rooms.

Room wasn't cleaned properly hairs in bath popcorn on floor

Booked the deluxe suite which we thought had a settee but only a table and 2 chairs. Room nice enough though. Reception staff friendly and effective with easy check in. No one serving in bar area , had to go to reception to ask someone to serve us and despite putting a call out no one came we gave up in the end and left. Overall nice hotrl in good location and would book again as reasonably priced

Lively couple of days sight seeing and shopping

Had an upgraded room with a view of the castle which was nice. The building is looking a bit tired, however I believe it was fair value. It was clean and service were polite and friendly. Great location for me

We booked The Angel Hotel, due to it central location close to Cardiff Castle and Sophia Gardens where we had booked to see The Bohemians - Queens Greatest hits. First room we were given had a problem with the heating but after reporting it the deputy manager came in 10 minutes to move us to another room. The room was clean and spacious with a comfortable bed. Excellent value £55 B&B. Breakfast was good and hot. Wife asked if they had vegetarian sausages and it was no problem. Nice and tasty and not too long a wait.

Expecting it to be a lot more dated. Room was clean and tidy. Good value for money

A great base for an overnight stay - close to city centre

Great location lady on reception was really friendly and helpful .room was ok was warm and cosy .power points were in an awkward placevl and mirror too high over dressing table ..shower was lovely

The trip was amazing. The staff were so friendly, very conversational and interactive. They watched my bags all day while I was at a show. The hotel is definitely an older building, but it has so much character. It’s right next to so many destinations and a lot of shopping. Highly recommended.

Considering our room was meant to be a deluxe twin, it was extremely disappointing! The room was very tired as was most of the hotel. Some lights wouldn't work, the bathroom was dark and dingy, shower curtain too short so water went all over the floor, but the worst bit was the extreme heating on full blast in the room. I complained to reception that the heat was rediculous and enquired if it could be turned down by them. They advised as it was winter the heating was now on and that it was either on or off. My argument was that it was only mid October and a mild wet one at that! They did bring a pedestal fan up to the room which we had to run all night long due to the intense heat and it was an awful night with very restless sleep. I will not be returning. Place needs complete refurb!

Hotel was clean and looked great, it is a old building but still looked classy. Room was big and spacious. Staff polite and breakfast was delicious.

Best staff of any Cardiff hotel. Very comfortable, spacious room. Some bar chairs could do with a good clean as they are badly stained. Room was very clean though.

Had a lovely one night stay. Room was spacious and very clean. Location is excellent, 15 min walk from train station and 10 fro. City centre shops. Beautiful , old character building.

Amazing staff and warm welcome but building is looking a bit tired and in need of some TLC. Cleanliness generally very good until I looked down the side of the bed and saw soneone else's jelly babies, which the cleaners had missed.
