Property is clean basic rooms if you need a safe place to stay not to expensive then City is a good place. No elevator so walking up the steps is worst then a workout in the gym. I would not recommend for anybody in a wheelchair or have walking problems. Breakfast is basic bread cheese juice boil eggs. Up the street is empanada spot the one with the red cart best one. Also a Mc Donald’s and supermarket around the corner. Area is pretty much safe but I would not walk at night better if you take Uber to where you will have to go.

The property seems to be going through some renovations/upgrades so I'll take that into consideration. Everything in my room worked well and the location is in walking distance to many restaurants.
I will return to Santo Domingo in a few months and I plan to stay there again. Im ooking forward to seeing the completed product.

The room was so clean and quiet. Nice people working there. I've stayed just two nights for work this time, but I'll be back with my wife next time. Overall stay was good. The breakfast was reasonably good. There is no elevator in the hotel so it was difficult to take the luggage to the second floor. Within 1/2 a mile there are fast food restaurants and grocery shop. For the price of the hotel room, it is a great place.
