Great central location, air con in the room was great for the hot days.

Included breakfast was just pancakes with peanut butter and jam and apples, was expecting a bit more as that’s what was advertised when booking. Room was smaller than advertised, pictures showed a wardrobe but this room definitely would never had fit a wardrobe. However wasn’t too expensive, thought we were getting a really good deal, but ended up being pretty average.

The location was alright.

We did not like the place. We checked in and after touring the place, we checked out right away. We have not tried this type of accommodation yet in the past. It was not for us.

The bed was comfy. Had some good spaces to hang out. Short walk to the waterfront and centre of Kelowna.

Staff weren’t overly friendly and didn’t seem eager to give recommendations. The first room I was given had very bad odour from some of the guests staying there, so I requested a change. This was granted thankfully. The breakfast offering was small, with one bagel and one piece of fruit. Butter and jam were offered, but no other condiment options like cream cheese. No juice or milk to put with tea/coffee.

Liked the kitchen available but my food got stolen.

The staff, manager. I paid online and then paid for a night in cash to move to private room and then they tried to charge me again when I was leaving. They kept a suitcase of mine and told me that my friend had taken it( when they ousted him in the morning, I was at appt.) Then they claimed I was never in the room I had moved to,then after not giving me the wakeup call I had reminded them of all week, they refused to call the airport shuttle and I missed my fligh(t$350) and Airbnb reservation($650). AND they made me wait outside in 30° heat for the cab I ended up paying for to go to airport only to find that I missed last flight and it was nonrefundable. Same Sun you succeeded in being solely responsible for the worst day of my life..and the most expensive.

Great location.

The room and facilities were very dirty. There were brown marks all over the walls, smeared toothpaste in the bathroom, no dusting had been done, and the bathroom reeked of urine. We have stayed at the Samesun San Fransisco and had a great experience so it was disappointing that this facility didn’t hold the same standards.

Friendly reception staff and relatively clean hostel

Roomate - smelled like homeless and he didn't care he was in share room. He went for a smoke several times a NIGHT and didn't care he was waking everyone up in the slightest. No matter what time we came back to the room he was always there and during the night he was preparing cigarettes in the room (rustling paper noise) or just closed the door loudly, or started suddenly searching for things and made even more noise. If I stayed more than 2 nights I would have talked to the front desk to arrange a change. For some reason the air was unbelievable stale even though the AC was turned on full and we had window open during the night to get fresh and cold air in. It was difficult to fall asleep because of the warm air. Felt like I was sleeping at my grandparents cottage in the attic during summer. I realise it's a hostel but I've experienced better stay at different Samesun locations.

I checked in and had a room to stay.

It was LOUD! The fan in the bathroom wouldn't turn off - and maybe for the better, because the parking lot outside my window was busy and hopping right into the wee hours of the morning.

I'd like to be able to stay longer!

Location is not bad, walking distance to the waterfront area. The place has a very large kitchen, which is surprisingly well equipped.

Was in an ensuite room. Don't believe the pictures, zero correlation. Small, very small, dark, not too clean and extremely old. Window was propped open with a piece of wood. Curtain doesn't really cover the window. Next to a busy main road, you can hear cars all night. No storage space at all. Small-screen TV with a couple of grainy channels. Wifi worked well. Parking is limited, the lot was full a couple of times and I had to find street parking elsewhere. Kitchen was always busy, and unfortunately the smell of cooking (lots of frying) permeates everywhere. I did some laundry and a brief spell in the drier was enough to have everything smell of burnt meat. Although the place is very cheap, I don't think I'll return.

The location was okay.

The whole hostel is so outdated. It looks like the owner is just after the money without investing some of it in updating the hostel. For example TV didn't work, window doesn't stay open without an external object, shower curtain are disgusting, water pressure is a joke and the walls definitely need a fresh coat of paint. I had an ensuite room for myself but felt more like in a prison.

location was good. Parking was convenient and included in price. Kitchen facilities were well used, but not by me. Lots of restaurants nearby. washrooms were nice … and clean. shower stalls were dark because bulb needed to be replaced.

staff were good, but other guests were not overly friendly. the dorm room needed a good cleaning, dust beside bed and on floor.

The room was a bit smelly (didn’t bother too much but was noticed) although there were not that many people in the room and we left the window open during the day it had a weird smell
