The hotel is clearly luxurious. The dolphin attraction was very surprising and wonderful.
For me, I don’t need that much luxury so it isn’t value for money for me. The food was very expensive. The location was distant from Waikiki centre which is relaxing but a barrier to sightseeing and eating elsewhere. The pool is quite small really, and it would be better if the dolphin lagoon was for swimming. For me, if I came again, I would stay in Waikiki.

Very nice rooms, very spacious and beautiful views of the golf course. Located in a very nice area.
If you’re wanting a relaxing holiday with quiet places to sit, this is not the place for you. The pool is very small, overcrowded with children. Did not like seeing the dolphins in such a small enclosure when the sea is a few meters away. Very sad!!!! Breakfast waiting time is very long, it’s loud and seems chaotic. No lounge to have a coffee, you have to go to one of the restaurants. It feels like there are too many people for the size of the facilities provided.

Staff is awesome and helpful. Food is acceptable.
Bed is comfortable but not the pillows, and the Massage was one of the best we have ever had.
Location was great.
First,
The Free Guest Internet access is ridiculously slow. In this day and age, you really shouldn't try to force people to pay $30 a day for what they call a Higher Bandwidth package which isn't that much better.
The pillows are HORRIBLE. Our room was next to the Elevator, so we heard it all day and night long.
Food is good but needs more options and more seafood dishes. I mean it is Hawaii after all.
Cabanas are not cabanas. They are chairs with a cover and is not worth $130 per day and then you can still have people in front of you. Service for food and drinks were slow at the beach. Menu is limited and not the best tasting. Alcohol options are super limited with the smallest bar I have ever seen.

I liked the location of the room.
Nothing I didn't like

I loved the beach front and the pontoon to swim to - lovely swimming spot. Lovely pool side staff.
The musician in the evenings was a definite plus and set the ambience just right for pre dinner or dinner. He was very good.
Was it Johnny Valentine?
I think a map of the hotel with all the access points to the garden and beach front would be useful.
Not a fan of heated toilet seats in summer.
When I arrived all the valets were busy or they ignored me when I stepped out of my cab as I only had 2 carry on luggage and a yoga mat. It would be polite to greet all guests upon arrival and I had to find my way to reception- not so straight forward.
4.5
Beautiful property with great amenities.
Location is remote from many tourist spots which can be either a plus or minus depending on the type of vacation you want.

The Kahala is a wonderful hotel. The beach is peaceful and quiet. The ocean is gentle here.
Perfect for children or non-swimmers. The room is large and the bathroom is luxurious.
The employees were all friendly and helpful.
We also enjoyed watching the dolphins play in the dolphin lagoon.
I only had one minor complaint that the toiletries were all made in China.

Beach is a bit crowded

I liked the Jacoulets in the hallway. Lobby was beautiful.
Rooms were dated with worn furnishing (but this seems common in Oahu). I mainly stayed there for the beachfront access, but the beach itself was a bit disappointing. It seemed like the sand was a thin layer on some sort of hard surface

Fantastic service by the staff, all very friendly and accommodating. Very thoughtful touches from the team at Kahala on our honeymoon.

My husband and I loved the property. The lobby is stunning with its high ceilings and gorgeous furnishings. The location is top notch with a beautiful beach and lovely surroundings. We stayed in the lagoon building with a golf course view. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed.
