It wasn’t the property I was not pleased about! Like all my stays at Hampton Inn, I never have any issues.
I asked to be near the airport and this location said it was 6 miles from the airport and far from the truth!! And traveling that far I wasn’t going to risk not having a place to stay. Get the distance from the airport where I wanted to stay close enough to get to my flight in under 15 minutes. This location had me near the downtown area of Richmond.

The front desk staff was exceptional and the breakfast attendant was very nice
The spot lights shining directly into our window and curtains that didn't close the way. It was a nightmare. I didn't sleep at all.

The swimming pool could have been better kept. It appeared to be dirt at the bottom of the pool.

The property was in a good location. It was easy to find and was close to certain amenities.
Nothing. Everything was cool as far as the property.
It was Booking.com that was the problem. Originally, I booked the stay and it was placed on hold … only for me to arrive and the property had no record of my reservation. I ended up booking a new stay directly with Hilton Honors. Hilton was great, but booking.com was not helpful at all with fixing the issue. On top of all of this, Hilton Honors beat your rate by $10.

Demetrius he was super nice and a cool young man. Made check in super easy.
Only complaint is that I ask for 2 more sets of towels. The young lady ask for my room number and said someone will bring them up. I'm still waiting on the towels and I have checked out

I got the back room , it’s to close to Rt 95 , and the shower room has a lot hair on the floor.

Breakfast was fine. Location convenient, but noisy.
The service from booking.com. I made the reservation through booking.com and elected the option to pay for the room on arrival. On arrival, I was told by a woman at the desk that y reservation had subsequently been cancelled by booking.com because it was not pre-paid. Someone did not know what was up. Fortunately, a room was available.

They charged me an additional $100.00 at check in with no explanation as to what it was for.
They sent me back outside to get my license plate number.
The room had a bad smell (my wife said she will not stay there again).
The overall condition and cleanliness of the hotel was not up to Hampton Inn standards.

The room was big enough for 1 adult and 1 teen—the bed was comfortable enough and the HVAC worked like a champ!
The hotel itself is fair—it’s clean and the staff is friendly. However, the hotel is within 100 yards of the Phillip Morris factory and the entire area has an industrial aroma. It is on the industrial end of Richmond, but the smell of factory smoke and cigarettes permeates the air and makes it hard to determine if your room is truly nonsmoking despite the staff’s efforts.

I'm surprised Hampton Inn allows this property to still operate under their banner. The place was so shabby. Stained hallway carpets ...spilled food in the elevator that was there all night., a duvet with no covering envelope sheet...
