it’s not really close to downtown at all, not if you’re not renting a car anyway. Also my partner and I really didn’t feel safe, the front door is constantly left unlocked by other people staying at the property and there’s just a general uneasy feeling about the place. It needs a lot of TLC, and the owners need to invest in new linens/towels as there’s a lot of questionable stains.

Key access was relatively easy. Hot water in shower was good. Good breakfast place across the road.

This studio is not in downtown area. You have to cross two busy freeway to access the town. Texting and emailing the owners was non responsive for two days. Bed is pull down and leg is faulty so husband had to sleep on a slant . The written feedback from guests in the apartment evidenced that there was a common trend of ignoring maintenance issues. Owner did contact us in the end and offered a free nights stay next time we booked. I would not book this place again. Sounds harsh but I don't think I've ever given such a disappointing review and we travel a lot and use booking.com a lot. Felt completely ripped off.

We came down for a quick weekend and it was a very convenient location! We were able to drive to everything in a very reasonable amount of time and the parking was available all the time. The apartment itself was spacious and had a nice kitchen.

I wouldn't return too late unless you have a decent size group with you. This is a feature of Memphis, not of this property.

the doors are NOT secured. the front door is basically dependent on the last person who enters to close which they never do. also apartment 202 upstairs has a very basic door latch so you are really easily accessible from the street. we left after one hour of checking in, and booked another facility down and the Shellcrest’s owners denied us a refund after we tirelessly tried to get in touch via phone and booking, without ever getting an answer. after arriving I read ALL the reviews and realized this has happened to many of us travelers. it is a well oiled scam. not many people would accept to stay in such a place and they just make money off people reserving and then leaving, refusing to pay. - beds are dirty, really in bad condition, low quality mattress - you need a car for the location

-The building is very nice looking with an historic athmosphere. Also, it has everything you need like a big fridge, dish washer, living room with television, etc. -The WiFi was good. -The diner across the street is nice for breakfast! -The free street parking is also a plus. -The building has a outdoor seating area.

-The beds were not very comfortable: one was very old (which looks great!) but made a lot of noise. The other one was too small for two persons and you felt every move of the other person. -The cleanliness of the appartement could be better. -The windows could not be opened for some fresh air, I guess because of the construction period.

The house was OK and pretty clean

I liked how attentive the host was even accommodating an early check in since we arrived so early in the day. The host gave thought to items you would need like dish washing soap, clothes detergent & a lighter for the candles. We also were able to use Netflix which was a nice bonus.

it is a cozy and well organised place. it is well furnished with also details to make it special. the check in was super easy and they gave us all the necessary information. it is clean.

the bed in our room was one of those beds that are included in a wardrobe and it was not so comfortable.

The location was perfect the only thing I had a problem with was the AC it was hot in the unit except for the back room other than that easy access to and from beale street

the AC in the home was not working so it was hot at night in the front two room the back room stayed cool

Everything was amazing! Cozy home environment, CLEAN, nicely decorated. Location was great and close to everything we needed. Definitely would recommend and would love to book again if we should return to Memphis!
