In contradiction with the hotel, the restaurant was very nice (I would evaluate it 8+) both the plates served and the decoration. (Breakfast was another story altogether, basic at its best).

Very bad attitude from some of the staff, particularly the night receptionists. One of them was unhelpful, when I asked for a little spoon which I needed, I was told they do not have any. And when I insisted how then we should be expected to make coffee or tea with the water boiler, cups and coffee/tea servings that were in the room, the reply was a rude 'There's nothing I can do...'. The other (the next evening) was simply not there, I called the reception and after 4-5 rings nobody was picking up. I had to go there myself, at first nobody was there, then the receptionist showed up, I asked what until what time the restaurant was open and the reply was 'I don't know'... Too bad I had paid in advance for the 6 nights I had spent there, else I would have changed hotel. The girls at the reception in the morning were more friendly. Still, on checkout day I asked if possible to stay in the room 2 more hours as my flight was leaving in the afternoon, and they advised that in that case I would be charged more than 50% of a day's rate, so in the end we had to wait these 2 hours at the reception. The room was too warm, we had to leave the window open to sleep but there is traffic outside, so we did not have the best of sleep.

This was our 5th stay at this hotel, we really like the room size, bed size and good location of the hotel. Good value for money

Breakfast could be improved There could be some coffee/tea in the room next to the electric kettle so one can prepare a hot drink in the room

I love this place. It is conveniently located has great easy parking and access. The beds are always clean and comfortable and the rooms are warm.

The shower head was loose so wouldn't stay in place to shower hands free...little thing but inconvenient...everything else was fab.

Montecito Hotel is a refurbished, older property on the main road into Sofia from Plovdiv. There is ample parking, and a large swimming pool. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They offer a paid shuttle service to the airport (which we didn't use).

Being an older building, footsteps in the room above us were very loud. The pool was also quite cold despite being at the end of a hot summer. The included breakfast was the old Bulgarian style, a fixed arrangement of pre-prepared cold items on a plate, plus a tasty fruit yogurt and a choice of a couple of cold cereals, which was okay but not up to the current standard of hotel buffet breakfasts. We had dinner in the restaurant which offers a good variety of dishes but was just okay. Unfortunately, there was a wedding party in their large restaurant next door and a loud altercation in the parking lot behind the hotel which lasted until late at night, disturbing our sleep.
