When we arrived we were brought to a different hotel than we had booked - KGH Patan. This was unexpected, but the other hotel was good so we didn't mind.

Owner and staff very nice and accommodating. Very clean. Good breakfast and convenient location. Our room was spacious with a little balcony. Comfortable beds.

We stayed 3 nights in this home, we loved everything. The room was very spacious comfortable and very well equipped. Good powerful shower and the breakfast in the terrace was excellent. Wifi works very well too. Shailendra receives you with a big smile and he can help with whatever you might need. Everyone was so nice and kind. We were very happy with the choice of location as it is a beautiful square and very calm. Short walk to Patan Darbar Square and easy taxi ride to Kathmandu and all the sights. We highly recommend this place and we hope to be back very soon!

Its pefectly located in front of an pond with one pagoda and temple in front of the hotel. Family owned. Also, owner was one of the nicest guy that helped us with all the info that we needed for this trip. Room was exactly the same as on pictures and beds were really comfortable. I would recommend this suite if you want comfortable experience for your trip

we had a wonderful time during our stay at Tajaa Pha ! it was our first time in Nepal and we felt like if we were at home ! Shailendra was very caring and take really good care of us ! always smiling, with good tips and recommandation to explore Kathmandu, what no to miss etc… The room is spacious, clean and comfortable, with the view right on the pond ! The street is calm and quiet which is really enjoyable after spending a day in the noisy and very lively city. And the real treat is the breakfast, that you can have on the rooftop. Delicious local food, with plenty of savor, perfect to start your day and feel fueled with a lot of energy !

It's a property owner that cares about guests and neighbourhood with a sustainable development perspective. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished, the location is beautiful and convenient. What else to ask for?

This place is an outstanding find in Kathmandu! Charming traditional building with comfortable and spacious rooms. Delightful view overlooking the Pimbahal pond and Temple in an authentic Kathmandu neighborhood. Shailendra, the innkeeper, and his family provide the warmest welcome imaginable and knowledgeable help with everything during your stay. They treated us like family! Delicious breakfast on a beautiful rooftop. Do not expect luxury-- no AC, (good fans however), no elevator-- walk up to rooms. This was completely fine with me. I much prefer the guesthouse with local feel, to a modern hotel without character. Totally comfortable!

Amazing location in the heart of the historic area of Patan. Busy at daytime but amazingly quiet at night. Got an upgrade to a top floor room facing the pond which was really nice. The owner was attentive and helpful. Both local and western options for breakfast.

I can't recommend Tajaa Pha highly enough! The guesthouse is beautiful and the view of Pimbahal from the rooftop can't be beat. The rooms are spacious and clean. The shower was the best shower I had while in Nepal. Plus, the breakfast is delicious and the staff is so friendly!

The breakfast was made fresh each day by the owner or one of his family members. It consisted of coffee, fruit juice, fresh fruit, toast with butter and jam, yogurt and granola, and a combination of eggs, pancakes, sautéed potatoes and vegetables. The location is in Phimbal Square. This is a quiet little square in the middle of Patan. There is a good collection of shops and restaurants surrounding a small lake with paddle boats. Many of the rooms overlook the square and, when the skies are clear, you get a view of the mountains in the background.

It is sometimes difficult to get some of the local taxis to understand where the location is.

We came to Nepal for just a few days to secure a visa for India. As soon as we arrived at the Tajaa Pha Heritage Home, Shailendra greeted us with hot tea and some amazing stories about the property. He offered us a complimentary upgrade that we were incredibly grateful for! Our room overlooked over the stunning Pimbahal Pond. Everyday breakfast is made fresh. Sometimes it was local traditional food, other times pancakes! Breakfast is served on the rooftop patio. The patio is covered in colorful potted plants and is also home to two tortoises. The rooms were spacious with big, comfy beds, hot showers, fresh towels, soft linens, a tea kettle, hair dryer and warm lighting. We have already recommended this place to our friends and family getting ready to travel to Nepal for similar trips. Shailendra and his family are so warm and welcoming. Be ready to enjoy your stay and also learn a lot from them about the area!

If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend ear plugs. There are some neighborhood dogs that occasionally like to have a party and their barking may wake you. :)

Amazing location and excellent breakfast served on the roof terrace

I had a wonderful stay in Tajaa Pha! First, it is difficult to imagine a better location in Kathmandu. The hotel is near a beautiful pond with many temples, and you can really feel an see the atmosphere of old Patan and experience culture. The property is also very quiet. Second, the room was quite comfortable. not only by Asian, but also by Western standard. It was clean, the housekeeping lady cleaned daily. Third, the owner is a very hospitable and kind hearted person. Fourth, the rooms are quiet, so you can sleep really good. Fifth, a beautiful terrace (see my photos) on the very top floor, where you can enjoy meditative mornings and evenings with a view on old Patan and also mountains. I highly recommend this property and wish good luck to the owners.

really, can not think of something. maybe a more demanding person will be unhappy with something, but remember that you are in Kathmandu! and it is also good value for money.

Loved the position beside the little lake and away from the pollution of Kathmandu. Breakfast on the rooftop was great with occasional views of mountains.
