Pemba is a special place, as it has lovely beaches, great diving/snorkelling, kind locals, but it is not yet over-developed by the tourism industry. There are only 4-5 resorts on the island and this is one of the few mid-priced ones. The pool is lovely and the rooms are spacious. There is a small private beach and at low tide it serves as a thriving seaweed farm which is interesting.
The staff all went above and beyond to make us feel special and to make sure we had a positive experience. Emmy, the GM, was an attentive host, her assistant manager Grace is a rising star. Bello and Hussein worked so hard and always greeted us with a smile. The security team and all the staff were excellent. I also recommend hiring a local to take you on a walk through their nearby village.
If you want a town with some action or choices of restaurants, this would not be the place to go. The drinks are overpriced. The evening buffet is excellent but the a la cart menu gets old fast.

Position
Pemba Island is very nice and this resort could be a good arrengement .... but actually it's not!
The rooms are very big, the matress very hard, on the terrace the paint was peeling. The cuisine was nothing special and too expensive for a 3 stars hotel.
But worse of all was the local staff. One evening they had no white wine in the fridge but they had in the house. At happy hour for three days they said they had no lime and 50% of the drinks on the menu had lime as ingredient! What we heard more from the staff was: "Sorry, for now we don't have ....".
One chance for the resort is the new french manager Julie. She really seemed to be the only one who has experience and the only one to care for the future of Pemba Paradise. Hope she can carry on her good will for the resort!

Nicely located at a splended beach. Two more resorts to the north within 20 minutes walking distance along the beach. Few local restaurants within 20 to 40 minutes walking distance, as well as local markets for basic supplements, such as water, fruits etc.
Unreliable electricity and water availability. Staff is always friendly and helpful, but insufficiently trained.

The location was lovely and was right on the beach so you could swim at high tide. The swimming pool was a good size.
The service was very slow for food and drinks, both of which were very overpriced. The staff and management were surly and usually on their phones in preference to helping guests.
There were power cuts pretty much every day we were there, some lasting for several hours, particularly when they were having to make repairs to the resort wiring. No power meant no water to the room (was on a pump system) so unable to use the toilet let alone the shower, and also no WiFi. There was no warning or apology for the inconvenience either before, during or after the power cuts.
The resort was generally run down with areas looking rather "tatty" and in need of maintainance and updating.
Because of the ongoing electric problems and indifference from the staff, we left the resort several days earlier than we had paid for, as we really wanted to enjoy this special area of Pemba which is a fabulous place to visit......... a costly inconvenience!

The staff are friendly, its in a good location to be a base for diving, visiting beaches etc.
Food was overpriced and not great. Walk to the Aiyana for food - its the same price but much better and with a nicer setting.
The facilities are a bit run down, the pool area could be better maintained.
The sea view suites don't really have a sea view. It's blocked by trees.
Staying here during a quarter/half moon is fine because you can walk up the beach to other places (as tide is low). If you're here during full or new moon, the tide cuts you off from walking along the coast and so you are quite trapped.

We absolutely loved the calm and relax atmosphere at the Pemba Paradise. The room we had was spacious and clean and had a beautiful big balcony with sea view! The staff was always friendly and doing everything to make us feel welcome and at ease. Definitely recommendable, especially if you like quite places (because there is not much around).

Great location, beautiful interiors, rooms, breakfast, housekeeping and restaurant staff.
It was extremely difficult to book excursions with reception. Lady promised to check some info for us, and even when we came back after couple of hours, she wasn’t prepared, like she didn’t care. We had to book it via other sources outside the hotel.

I enjoyed the stay at the hotel very much.
The restaurant was really good, a bit pricy but I have to admit the dishes were worth every penny.
I did my Open Water Diving Certification with the Company AfroDivers in Pemba North - the first dives in confined water were held at the pool in Pemba Paradise.
I can also recommend that hotel if you‘re traveling alone - super chilled atmosphere!
All in all I totally loved my stay in Pemba Paradise!
Yusuf, the guy from the reception, is not the nicest one. The day before I left, I asked Yusuf for a taxi drive to the airport for the next day. The morning when I was supposed to leave, there was no taxi .. also there was nobody at the reception.. I was so happy that the cook was already in the hotel and he managed to call the taxi driver - with a delay of half an hour the taxi left the hotel. So keep that in mind if you order a taxi, it might be delayed and the drive duration to the airport is already 1 1/2 hours.

Rooms and general facilities were very nice.
The food was very average with limited choice and no option than to eat all meals in the hotel. The service was erratic and slow.

The hotel is placed in a nice and peacefull beach, in Pemba Island.
Breakfast was ok.
Dinner was good, but a bit expensive, compared to other hotel restaurants in Zanzibar.
Hotel is too far from airport (aprox. 2h), and we arrange the transfer with the hotel.
When we arrived at Pemba Airport, no one was waiting for us.
We decided to take a taxi do hotel, and staff told us that could´t pick us because of a huge fire.
But they didn´t even sent us a message informing us.
The room doesn´t have a door to the bathroom. For some people could be a bit compelling, specially if you didn´t notice it in advance.
We didn´t have hot water in the bathroom.

The setting was beautiful - the pool area, the beach. It was nice to be able to walk along the beach in both directions at low tide. The dining area staff were very friendly. The beach lobster dinner was a real highlight for us- the staff built bowers of flowers, made a huge bonfire and then there was dancing and singing. Excellent.
It seems like Covid has really impacted the services available and service level at the property. For example, there were very few options for things to do that seemed to be available or else the staff were very reluctant to talk about them. Also, while the dining area staff was very friendly, it took a very long time for drinks and meals to be delivered.

Ok
The bill had mistakes- in two out of four. The total was high by over 50 dollar in both cases. Not sure it was just a mistake.

They have different specials on the dinner menu every day and it is best to order from that as they might not have everything on the their actual menu. The chef puts out some amazing meals and we were very happy with our dinners. The pool gets cleaned very well every morning and serviced during the day. Quite possibly the cleanest pool during our 3 weeks in Tanzania.
Your room does not get serviced unless you ask for it or complain about it. This does not match the rest of the hotel at all. Breakfast is the same every day. Staff need training, a lot. Every time you order a drink it will look different and if you are lucky the sun is still up by the time you get it. Just because the hotel is quiet doesn't mean you will get your drinks within an hour.

Great place, probably the best in Pemba, especially if you're looking for the combination of silence and comfort. Very friendly staff and great environment for the pure relaxation.
The way from the airport is about 1,5 hour - just to be considered for the trip planning. Right in front of the hotel beach the locals grow water plants: not a big issue, but expect the plants and ropes in about of 20 meters from the shore

This hotel had great staff and wonderful food! Also, the location was perfect for snorkeling and relaxing. Nice / interesting conversations with staff and other guests. If I return to Pemba, this is where I would want to stay.

Some of the staff seemed tired and not in the mood to provide service.

the staff are all friendly and super accommodating. the food is tasty and very well presented!
everything is in dire need of upkeep. had no water on more than three occasions. not due to water shortage, due to pump issue. the toilets at the beach bar, didn’t flush, no lights in the toilet and no toilet paper. one morning no milk for coffee! there are ventilation holes from the toilet right about the bed, absolutely not well thought out. No options of other restaurants or venues to visit, totally isolated. and the charges for taxi transport are extremely high.

We loved our stay at Pemba Paradise. You can see dolphins right from the hotel. Food is excellent! The staff is so welcoming! We had a lovely honeymoon dinner on the beach, with dolphins off the coast and fireflies flying around. Unforgettable stay

Nothing
No water. Weak wifi. When there is water it has a disgusting brown color. Service was very poor. The barman was awful. Couldn’t do a simple cocktail. The room cleaner stole some money from my friends as well. Don’t leave your money in the room. The owner from the hotel looks stone she don’t have any reaction from any of our complaints. She is completely lost and don’t know what to do. Stay far AWAY from this hotel even if it’s cheaper. We ended up going to the expensive hotel 5min away to save our trip.
