It's a beautiful property: the rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable, nice touches throughout the hotel. The staff were wonderful too: suggested great places to visit and even drove us there!

The staff was nice and picked me up from the water town. The food was also good. The room was beautiful with a nice skylight, hot tub, heated floor and complimentary snacks. The bed was also comfortable. There was a partial view (from the roof) of part of the Great Wall Simitai.

It was REALLY FAR away from the Gubei/Beijing Water Town. It really should not be listed as being near there. (Could be my mistake.) You would be totally isolated without a car. When they said they'd pick me up, I assumed we'd meet at the entrance, but instead we walked 20 minutes along the highway because they did not want to pay for parking. Understandable, but could have been communicated better. The payment situation was incredibly frustrating. They do NOT accept ANY foreign credit/debit cards. Thus, they really should not be listed on English Booking.com. No one spoke English. Also, for a "spa hotel" there was no pool, sauna, or massage service. I'm not a snobby traveler at all but was hoping for a relaxing night. For the price I paid (esp. in China!) it should have been better.
