relatively cheap, close to the airport, close to big supermarket, appartment quite big, parking available inside (for security reasons)

absolutely no promises kept by the owner, nobody speaks any word English, despite informing twice about my arrival time I had problems to get in, terrible bathroom with need of refurbishment and only really cold water, no water at all one morning (!!!), very old and noisy air-conditioning, run down area with unpaved roads and poor people hanging around (for more details see my review dated 29 January 2024)

relatively fair price; close to the airport for overnight stay; safely closed from the public to avoid potential criminal acts so typical for Dominican Republic; the man living there was nice although not speaking English; cleanliness was OK; parking inside possible; friendly cat in the house :-)

nobody spoke single word English; despite having informed the owner twice about my arrival time, I was not able to get into the property for about 20 minutes, there is no bell, no name of the property, no street name, no house number; it took almost 30 minutes to get the correct wi-fi name and password; the house is situated in a very poor area, surely dangerous to walk outside especially after dark; the access road is absolutely poor, full of potholes; there was no hot water in the bathroom (only cold); bathroom looked really poor (see attached photos); one morning there was no water at all, I could not wash myself, wash my teeth, had to go to the airport to wash my face and teeth; air-conditioning very old and extremely noisy; noisy people in the next house; I cannot understand how this property may promote having reached over 9/10 points on Booking.com in 2018 (I dont want to see properties that have 3-4/10 points...) OK, for 25 USD per night I do not expect any luxury, but this kind of bathroom and not having water at all is really too much... And to have an owner who cannot talk any single English word, replies only "OK" and when I inform her about exact arrival time she does not arrange that I can get into the house immediately and not have to stand on the dangerous road for 20 minutes in the dark!

Close to airport, cheap and cheerful

Hard to find with a taxi. Not much around. Very few food options.

They allowed us to check-in at 1:45 am which other places did not offer

There was a huge spider in the apartment when we arrived. It did not feel safe.

The wifi signal is not good at all. Everything else was good.

It was night so I couldn't really see the surroundings .

No towels in the bathroom, no soap

It's a nice place to stay for the night. The host at the location was very helpful and the person I had contact with as well!

It's a bit out of town and that, but it's near the airport so it's what you decide yourself. Waterpressure from the shower was a bit low. But it's OK.

This was the first hotel I ever stayed and I really didn't know what to expect, but I'm glad I stayed here. The room was impeccably clean and the Host went above and beyond - When I arrived, there was a misunderstanding.. I thought I paid for the room ahead of time and had no cash on me. Instead of putting me out the host took the time to explain things and did not become cross when I insisted I paid- they understood my confusion and dealt with me with respect and compassion. They instead offered to carry me to the nearest atm. I am from Jamaica, I am accustomed to rough situations and was prepared to sleep outside of the door BUT I slept soundly knowing I was safe and cozy. The wifi quality was sufficient, allowing me to be in contact with my worried family members. Hosts were able to accommodate my time, even when check-in status changed. Thank you Apartahotel Carla, this is truly an experience I will never forget!!
