There were 12 of us staying in this house and it suited us well. Plenty of room to move about, beds were good, hot tub was good, fire pit area was nice at night. Convenient to Glacier National Park, Whitefish and Kalispell (airport). The two kitchens were a nice feature; would have been nice to have more chairs around the long table but we were able to bring more chairs up from downstairs. Keep in mind, you definitely will need a vehicle when you stay here. All in all we had a good time. Montana is beautiful!

The house is absolutely amazing and LuAnn was awesome to work with. She was so accomodating to our group and her response time was impeccable. Thanks for making our trip so special LuAnn!

Our group of family friends decided to make a return trip to Glacier National Park. We needed a place that could accommodate 17 adults. This rustic home was perfect. It is well appointed with everything we could possibly need for a weeks’ stay-even bear spray for our hikes. :) The only issue is that the main level is the only one that can be temperature regulated.- making both the upstairs and downstairs a bit warm and stuffy. If we ever return to the area with a large group, we would definitely stay here again.

Really nice floor plan for multi family groups. Good balance of private space and gathering spaces. Several good outdoor sitting and gathering spaces. Functional spacious kitchen with two separate sink stations. Very friendly and responsive hosts.

A group of 17 family members, ages 9 months to 88 years old, all enjoyed our stay! The home is conveniently located near Glacier’s west entrance and equipped with amenities that suit every age!

Home layout was perfect for us

We booked the house for our entire family- 8 adults & 7 kids. House was clean and very well equipped. Kitchen was super roomy and well stocked for such a large group. Rooms were spread out and allowed us not to be on top of us. The large bedroom with 6 twin beds was perfect for for all the kids! House was private and well located. 30 minutes to Glacier National Park. Close to shopping and restaurants. Saw wildlife in the yard.

LuAnn was incredible! She was responsive and helpful! We had a large family gathering and used both properties. The hinges were beautiful and stocked with everything we needed! Property is peaceful, quiet and relaxing! We have already recommended the homes to other family members! You will not be disappointed with this home!!

We stayed for our elopement to GNP with our 8 family members. Lu Ann was so accommodating and allowed us to have a private chef come in to do our dinner-10 of us sat comfortably at the dining room table. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out over the week and a beautiful yard with games and a hot tub. We had an amazing time and the home couldn't have been better.

Our family really enjoyed our stay. Pictures doesn’t do justice, the home and property is amazing. My granddaughter loved watching the deers and turkeys on the grounds.
Luann is a wonderful host!!

We are a large family of 14. The house had plenty of space to accommodate us all. The grandkids loved the upstairs bedroom with 6 beds and the outside lawn area for them to play. Lu Ann was an awesome host and replied in a timely manner with answers to my questions. The house did not disappoint, when in the area again we will definitely book.

We loved this house! There was plenty of room for everyone. We had 8 adults staying at the house, but we also had visiting family with young children. It was nice to be able to host all of them (there were 9 additional family members who traveled from the Great Falls area to visit with us for a few days. Two families stayed in the KOA campground which was located only a mile or two away from the house. The house was very well stocked with pretty much anything we needed. There was plenty everything including towels, blankets, pillows, sheets, additional folding chairs and tables, coffee pots… you name it, and I’m sure you’d find it! There was also plenty of cookware, unlike other places we’ve stayed in, where there was only one fry pan and a cook pot if we were lucky! There was also bakeware, and enough cutlery, plates, glasses, etc. for all 17 of us to eat dinner! The location was great too! It was just a few minutes to Whitefish, around 20 minutes to Kalispell and 40 minutes to the west entrance to Glacier Park. The house had plenty of outside seating as well. The hot tub was great for sore muscles after taking long hiking trips. There was also a fire pit. Unfortunately, we couldn’t light it during our stay because of fire restrictions. Lu Ann even provided us with a tray of goodies upon our arrival which we truly appreciated! Thank you, Lu Ann, for everything! You made us feel welcome in your beautiful home.

Beautiful home to accommodate guests from ages 15 to 80! Close to Glacier National Park and the town of Whitefish gave us many options after a day of hiking. A lovely spot to enjoy Montana.

There is so much to rave about. The house is 10 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from Whitefish with loads of stores. The 3 porches were a gift. The “morning” porch was where the early risers took their coffee in the sunlight. Cornhole and frisbee were constantly in play in the evening. The 6 late teens loved their room and used the hot tub most nights. What we found amazing was that sound did not travel and the big kids didn’t keep us up. The kitchens were well stocked with dishes and cutlery and dishwashers. We were provided with hand soap, laundry detergent , dishwasher pellets and garbage bags and lots more. The huge lawn was made for frisbee and yoga. Several family members went on long runs and easily found a network of trails. LuAnn was easily contacted with our questions .

The house and surrounding area were so beautiful and quiet. We were close to the airport, Whitefish downtown, and the park so the best of all worlds.
Hiking was spectacular and everyone we met was friendly and welcoming.
We loved Montana!!

This property is well maintained and has all the accessories that you will need during your stay. The layout worked very well for for our family. One of 4 members, one of 3 members, and my wife and I. All of the families had different sleep timing. 3 levels of bedrooms that helped manage that challenge. The ambience of the propery was a true log lodge atmosphere. Conviently located between Whitfish and Kalispell. 10 minutes to each. Wonderful property manager that is very responsive.

Palace built for queens. A treasure to get lost in! Everything was perfect. Fully stocked. Functioning WIFI. Communication with Lu Ann pre-arrival, during and after was fantastic. Accommodating hosts. Gorgeous home, beds were comfortable, spacious and beautiful. Many wonderful memories made. 10/10 would recommend.

We rented this VRBO for a business offsite that include myself and 4 other colleges. We had several others who's flights were cancelled and unfortunately had to attend via zoom. So it turned out Wi-Fi became an important feature. I live in rural whitefish MT so understand the limited options. I personally have Starlink and get amazing performance with it for only $125.00 per month. For the price of this VRBO they should have Starlink. Otherwise the property was wonderful.

We had a big ski group come out for the long weekend and we couldn’t have asked for a better accommodation. Lots of room for everyone. My only note is that I would only recommend putting one person on the pullout couch - two wouldn’t be the most comfortable. Location was great - secluded but only 10 mins to town and then 30 mins to the ski hill. Would definitely book again!!

The house was perfect for our big group!

House was amazing! Very clean, everything you need to stay. Stores were close for all your food and toiletry needs. LuAnn was on top of answering questions as quick as possible. I’ll be back!!
10.0
We had a great experience at the property. The house was probably the best stocked house I’ve ever stayed in. We lacked for nothing. It was close enough to stores to do some shopping as needed and far enough out to watch wildlife from the windows or while enjoying time out on the deck. The check in process was great and our host was so kind and helpful! Highly recommend this place for your Whitefish stay!

The Walking Bear Lodge is the perfect spot for a reunion! The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked for cooking and serving for a dozen people. It is a wonderful spot for friends to gather, close to Whitefish for shopping and Glacier Mountain Park for exploration.

It is a great place to stay and there were only a couple hiccups we had during our visit! The neighbors building a new house 100 yards away with the constant noise from 7am until quitting time everyday. There are several properties that you pass on your way in and surprisingly a lot of traffic on the 1 lane road back to the cabin. It did feel as if living in a suburb rather than a secluded mountain log cabin. I'm sure the noise will disappear once the house is finally built nextdoor. That being said, it is my fault I and should have chosen a cabin further from the hussle and bussle of whitefish. We still had a great time , it is a beautiful place and thank you to LuAnn!

Wonder place to stay when visiting Glacier, we loved the house, beautifully decorated and spacious. Owners were communicative and easy to contact. Access to additional supplies was great when traveling with a big family. The Kitchen was a dream, with any appliance at our finger tips. Thank you for giving us no worries, and alliwing us to just enjoy your area!

Thanks to LuAnn for coordinating grocery delivery to the property and always promptly answering my questions. Our family truly enjoyed the property and the experience. Loved sitting on the porches is early morning and late evenings spending family time together and watching the deer and birds play. We highly recommend this property!

A Week of Family Memory Making
We enjoyed everything about our stay at Walking Bear. The house was clean & spacious, kitchen well stocked, and plenty of room for everyone. We especially enjoyed the covered porches, hot tub, and the lawn area where many wiffle ball games took place. The neighborhood is quiet but convenient. LuAnn was a great host and very responsive to any questions or requests. Would definitely stay here again!
