A friendly, comfortable B&B close to the wonderful Cornwall coast.

Mark and Lisa’s little B&B is a fabulous place to stay - a beautiful home with great spacious rooms and en suite. It’s in a great location for visiting the lovely coastline of Cornwall. Mark and Lisa were great hosts - chatty and friendly with lots of good local advice on where to visit and good places to eat. Breakfast was lovely too.

Empfehlenswert

Super nette Gastgeber, mit denen wir schnell ins Gespräch kamen. Unser Zimmer (Porth Suite) war ausreichend groß und hell. Das Badezimmer war für unsere bisherigen Erfahrungen in Cornwall sehr groß. Parkplätze kostenlos in der Nähe verfügbar.

Frühstück war gut, konnte sich aber in Auswahl und Menge nicht mit den anderen von uns besuchten B&B´s in Cornwall messen.

A wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay. Mark and Lisa are very warm and welcoming hosts. The room was beautiful with a bath that overlooked the garden. It is an ideal location to get away and relax from the worries of the world or work in a quiet and peaceful setting. We will definitely be back.

Estancia estupenda en un lugar muy tranquilo y de calidad

Características más destacables: excelente nivel de limpieza, amabilidad de Mark y Lisa, es de agradecer la información que dan y lo atentos que son, muchas gracias. El desayuno está muy bien también, sobre todo el "cooked breakfast" de salmón, además hay algo de fruta, tostadas con abundante café y leche, mermeladas de varios tipos, cereales, .... Buena cama, buena ducha, todo muy bien, la verdad. Muy recomendable la estancia en Penwyth House.

Unique, arty, historical, cosy

Lisa and Mark were extremley accomodating, relazed and friendly. We very ,uch felt welcomed and at ease. We knew they were available for information and help but were happily left to our own devices to relax.

We loved everything about htis place but if I were to give one suggestion perhaps a dimmer on the night lamps would have been good. Sometimes one of us wants to sleep whilst the other reads.

Exceptional

The hosts Mark and Lisa are so welcoming, friendly and attentive hosts. They have great local knowledge and gave some great recommendations for how to get the most out of our short trip to Newquay. The Garden Room is quirky and well presented with some really nice personal touches. The family of Whippets made our stay even better. They are the most gorgeous dogs 🐕

Penwyth House is in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall and has an good selection of local amenities. Breakfast was delicious, our room was exceptionally clean and the hosts were fantastic! Thank you Mark and Lisa for making us feel so welcome and for providing us with some excellent recommendations both prior to and during our seven day stay. We highly recommend Penwyth House to anyone looking for a 'home away from home' stay.

Amazing little guest house with fantastic hosts

The decor throughout the house was immaculate, our room and bathroom were tastefully decorated, both were a good size with great facilities and were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and Lisa was very accommodating when my partner requested a mix of the options available. Nothing was too much trouble. Both lisa and Mark were lovely, so friendly and helpful, they really made us feel welcome and at home. They do have some house rules like removing your shoes on entry, but personally I was happy to do this as the carpets were immaculate and I find it respectful to honour their request. The outside garden area was lovely and had loads of wild flowers and climbing roses, it really fitted to the outside of the house and was a beautiful view out of our bedroom window. The location for us was great, positioned close to Porth beach and lusty glaze beach. It was about a 40-minute walk into Newquay centre, but we always went the coastal path, not the road, which is quicker. There is a fantastic little pub just minutes away called farmers' arms, which is not expensive and served excellent food, everyone in there was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. There is ample free parking at the church next to the pub. I would not hesitate in recommending this beautiful little guest house complete with the two most friendliest hosts.

Secret garden oasis with welcoming hosts and a homely vibe!

We absolutely loved the garden that you walk into to get to the property! It was stunning - a hidden secret garden kinda vibe! The room we stayed in was a lockdown project and was just outstanding, Mark had made the garden room just so quaint and beautiful! The bed was comfy, the bathroom was very well done and even felt a little boujee!! Just felt like you were in your own little cabin! The breakfast offerings were delicious and accompanied by enjoyable conversation with hosts and other guests, Mark and Lisa have a good knowledge of the area and can recommend activities well! They are both super friendly and have outstanding customer service! It genuinely felt like you were in your friends house rather than a B&B!! Very homely, clean, peaceful and welcoming! We were recommending the place straight away!!

Good location for getting around in Cornwall. Great walks, beaches and amenities locally. Very clean in property. Yummy breakfast! Mark and Lisa are very welcoming ,friendly and helpful.

We would have preferred 2 chairs in the room.

Awesome place to spend some relaxing few days

Property is very nice and clean! The Crantock room we stayed in was quite spacious and had a shower and also a bathtub in the room! The room was tidy and the design was lovely! Both Lisa and Mark are great people! Loved our morning breakfast chats! Breakfast was also tasty and loved it every morning! We felt very welcome! Also loved the dogs! They are the most well behaved Pets we ever met!

I can’t say that it was something we did not like! I highly recommend staying here

Beautiful house, felt like a home away from home. Breakfast was great, hosts were absolutely amazing and so helpful. Parking was easy. Great transport links. I had a single room but was still a good size and ensuite was big, comfy bed, lovely and cosy. Would definitely come again and recommend to all my friends and family.

it was wonderful!

The property was absolutely lovely. Amazing attention to detail, unique and comfortable, both inside the Inn as well as it's surrounding garden. Mark and Lisa were incredible hosts and did their best to make all their guests feel welcomed. I loved the quiet neighborhood, the narrow streets and the proximity to the sea. We spent most of our time walking along the Southwest Coastal Path to admire the views.

We didn't have a car, so the location was a bit further from Newquay than I'd realized, but we enjoyed the walks and a chance to explore the area.

Our 6 night stay was amazing, we absolutely loved staying at Penwyth house.

The cottage is beautiful and had a stunning garden, and decorated very tastefully. The place was kept to a very high standard and cleaned throughout daily. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and the hosts Mark and Lisa were wonderfully charming, welcoming and helpful. Their high score here is truly justified.

Fabulous 5* quiet place

The accommodation was exceptional, beautifully decorated, plenty of space in the room, there is a lovely little garden you can sit in which was perfect for our weekend as it was sunny… great selection of breakfast, hubby had smoked salmon scrambled eggs and herbs on muffin’s and I had pancakes with fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and syrup.. there are also many other delicious options. We walked to the main Newquay centre which took us 45mins but it’s a beautiful walk.. the house is situated in a quiet quaint village ( exactly what we wanted) we would 100% go back there. Lisa and mark are excellent host, very friendly and go that extra mile to make sure you have everything you need.
