10/10 hotel in Taormina

Second visit to this hotel in Taormina, still as amazing as we remembered and did not disappoint. Room with beautiful sea view, balcony, and only a 5 minute walk up to Taormina centre with all restaurants and shops. Also the staff were always helpful with booking trips to the local beaches (Luca and Guisseppe) and Lucy the hotel dog is the sweetest with her ball and cuddles. Thank you Villa Astoria for a lovely stay :)

The stay was wonderful, but getting to and from the airport was complicated and expensive.

The room view was just as depicted in the photos, the staff was really nice and helpful, the villa was very close to a bus terminal, which turned out to be super useful because, contrary to what booking advertised, there was no airport shuttle offered. We were able to take a cheap bus from Catania airport directly to the villa the evening we arrived. Although we arrived after the check in window (after 8.30 pm), the staff was really helpful and arranged a way for us to self check in, without an extra fee.

There were a couple of facilities advertised by booking that were not accurate - private beach and airport shuttle. There was no private beach area, the closest beach to the villa is 15 minutes walking and the bed and umbrella for 2 people cost 50 euro/day. We emailed Villa Astoria about the airport transfer prior to our arrival day, they advised us to speak to booking directly. We called booking and we were assured that airport transfer is included and they will arrange it with the property, but when contacting them, they again said that the airport transfer is not covered and recommended either a 100 euro taxi or a 7 euro bus. Our flight back was quite early in the morning, so we were not able to take the bus, the taxi would have costed around 100-150 euro, so the staff helped us find a taxi to the Taormina train station (which costed 50 euro because of the early hour) and from there we took the train (16 euro for 2 people)

Nice place to stay!

The location is super great, just few minutes to the cable car, which will bring you directly to the beach. Or 15 minutes walk with really beautiful road. City center with all the restaurants also in 10-15 min walk. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Especially I want to admit Giovanni, he is nice and positive person who greeted us everyday with smile and interesting story :) the view from from our room was breathtaking.

Cleanliness - it is something you need to work with. Our bedding was with old stains, and when I asked madam from cleaning to change our bedding, she did, but new bedding was also with stains. So we asked again, and from 3rd try it looked clean. Also, you can use less plastic- for example you can change plastic glasses in rooms on normal ones, refill shampoo bottle instead of using a lot of small portion in plastic. But generally it is a really good quality for this money.

Above and beyond staff and beatiful views

Exceptional staff! It made lot of difference to have such wonderful people helping us. And they were going above and beyond! View from the room and waking up to the sun raising, working fridge. My only comment would be - no lift - so poor Giuseppe (the first one - later dethroned to Giuseppe no 2 by Giuseppe no 2 who was in fact no 1) brought luggage to the second floor. All the guests had their luggage taken care of. Wonderful coffee made by both Giuseppes and Mauro (Mr Nobody) - won't be getting one like that at home, deffo! And then Lucy the dog, absolute cuteness who played ball all the time. It is a massive thank you for the exceptional hospitality, smiles and zillions of amazing coffees!

No lift. Giuseppe will carry on your luggage but be prepared for stairs. Not terrible but after a day walking up and down it may be a challenge for some my age.

Great value hotel in perfect location we were very impressed.

Excellent location for the town and for transport, buses and cable car, and a great value hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable, go for a sea view if you can as it’s worth it. Staff were helpful and friendly available to give advice and breakfast was very good with the best cappuccinos we have had.

Nothing we wish we could have stayed longer.

Breakfast was great. Location was ideal, quick walk to the old town, near the cable car to Isola Bella, and right opposite the bus station/car park. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

Amazing one week in Taormina.

Exceptional staff, lots of useful advices and they were always happy to help with everything. The breakfast was really good with fruits, fresh orange juice every day and grat coffee. Amazing location not only because of the stunning view but also because of being just opposite to the bus stop.

We were a bit disappointed with the view, as we paid additionally for the room with the view to the sea. It's been visible but the view was far from the one presented in the photo while booking due to the high bush blocking the view. Also despite it's advertised the parking is aviable bear in mind it's not free and costs 15 eur per day!

Beautiful, just needing proper pillows

Everything including the view was wonderful except the pillows, we asked for extra pillows but they were still flat and not supportive

A small and perfectly formed B and B run by friendly and attentive staff close to the heart of beautiful Taormina.

Really great location / directly opposite the main Taormina bus station - buses straight to the airport and the hop on hop off buses easy reach. Walking to the Main Umberto high street is only 5 or so minutes and the cable car down to isola Bella is closer still. We had a superior room with balcony and the view was incredible. The breakfast for 10 euros a day was very nice and the home made cannoli were to die for! Salvatore and team were so friendly and welcoming and gave some great tips on what to do around town.

The only minor quibble was the bed was a bit too hard for our liking. This was improved by getting extra pillow each, but was definitely not too bad. Otherwise I couldn’t fault it.

Wee gem of a hotel

Fantastic hotel right beside the main bus terminal and within easy walking distance of the main areas of Taormina as well as the cable car down to the beach. Great value for money and very clean, the balcony view of the sea was superb. Cant praise the staff enough, they were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Simply cant think of anything we didn't like to be honest.

Great stay!

The hotel is in a perfect area which is very close to Taormina’s center and also right in front of the bus terminal. So, if you get by bus the hotel is right in front of it making it so much easier to travel. The ones behind the reception are so friendly and as soon as we arrived they gave us a map and showed us the main attractions without even asking them. They are also good in talking english and also very clean. There is also the dog Lucy which is so cute and friendly! ♥️♥️

beautiful place

beautiful place near to the city center and across from the bus station, yet quiet at night. room was smaller but very clean and good equipped. comfortable bed and stunning view of the sea. they gave us a map and many useful tips on where to go and what to see. the hosts were so nice and kind. loved the dog as well. walls are thin so you can hear your neighbor.
