Fantastic experience

From General Manager to Reception and Service staff, I have seldom had a hotel with so nice and friendly employees. The location directly at the West Lake in Hangzhou is classic. Breakfast on the terrace with lake view is incomparable.

Exceptional

Great location right across the West Lake and next to the Yue Fei Temple, as well as some nice little restaurants and convenience stores. This hotel is a bit old but still very clean, the service is also perfect, if you need something the staff was really helpful. We also really loved the lunch buffet (which you have to purchase separately).

Fantastic experience

Very friendly stuff speaking good English. Our little baby was very happy with toys and tent they brought in the room. Good dinners.

Beautiful hotel right by the lake, with excellent attentive staff.

The location was excellent, a minute away from the lake. The room was very clean and staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was extensive but the hot items, such as eggs, sausages, beans etc. were left out in open dishes so everything was cold. At the time of staying the pool was also closed which I was not aware of beforehand.

Superb

Location is great and convenient to visit the West Lake. Staff at the reception is friendly and helpful.

Trafic is a little bit crazy for the weekends. But it does not hurt for people who like going around just by foot.

Poor and disappointing. Three star Hotel at best!

Location was good.

The hotel is very dated and it appears that the rooms haven’t been touched since the 1980’s.Even though there impressive pictures of international dignitaries this isn’t reflected in the poor facilities. I was gravely disappointed as the Shangri La is one of my favourite hotels. But the one at Westlake very disappointing. I left after a few hours. The hotel is below its normal standard and is Three Star at best. No value for money.

Excellent location, old infrastructure

Wonderful location directly at West lake; friendly owner and staff

Very mediocre food; old rooms and gym; no notice on website that pool is under renovation ( important criterion with kids!) Lives off old glamour and location but in dire need for renovation. Overpriced.

Nice hotel in perfect location

The location just in front of the West Lake! Very friendly stuff with children and adults ;) for the room service, the person came to our room to double check if the order was well understood and they gave us a good recommendation for a westerner restaurant outside the hotel.

The hotel is a little bit oldish but it’s ok. The kids were definitely disappointed with the swimming pool closed for the maintenance :/

The staff were friendly, eager to please and some of the best service I have ever had.

The decor was a little old and tired. The room, though not cold was not warm. The spa was closed due to the time of the day. The breakfast was ok at best.
