Great Location. Great Price.

Great location in Old Town. Walking distance to all the major sites. Staff are lovely. Great old gated elevator. EXCELLENT shower. Old building.

Would have loved a soft or feather pillow. Thicker towels. It is a bit noisy,

Da localização. Você consegue ir à pé nos principais pontos da cidade velha e o quarto para duas pessoas era bem grande.

Por foto a gente imagina um hotel vintage, mas pessoalmente tudo velho, rangendo, com vários pontos de poeira e algumas coisas quebradas. No meu quarto foi encontrada uma barata

A good budget choice in the old city. Bring your ear plugs!

The hotel is very old and in a very walkable part of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, even without any English.

The noise from the street echoes, goes on all night, every night and is excessive. Only coffee is available in the morning. We would have gladly paid a little extra for breakfast as there are no places nearby offering breakfast.

Ótimo hotel, com bons atendimentos e localização.

Atendimento; decoração e localização (o hotel é muito bem localizado). Eles também fazem um café da manhã simples de cortesia. Muito gostoso e bem feito.

É uma sugestão: o blz poderia ser fechado, pois quando tomamos banho a água passa para o restante do banheiro e também “vaza” por baixo.

La ubicación es fantástica. Es un edificio antiguo, y las instalaciones son como de otra época, pero está todo muy bien cuidado y te tratan maravillosamente.

Very good

Location is great if ypu are not staying a Saturday night as there a is a lot of noise from the street and clubs. You can walk everywhere and has many bus stops nearby.

There is no breakfast included.

Very good staff in this HOSTEL

The location is just in the old town, so centrical place. The staff is fantastic, absolutely helpful and friendly. It's nice that they provide coffee and biscuits in the morning Very good air conditioning, and excellent views from the terrace

This is NOT a hotel, but a hostel. That's why the price is low. Building is beautiful, but in poor state. Furniture in the room is good for a hostel, but didn't expect not being able to open the wardrobe because there's no room for the door to open, and bathroom rather antiquated and noisy. Old town full of homeless people at night

The breakfast was almost non-existent. Also noisy in the morning... You can hear everything going on in the whole building including the lift.

Really enjoyed our stay here, and had a fun time. Would recommend.

Staff fantastic, very helpful, room lovely, little terrace at top of building. Comfy solid bed. Aircon pretty quiet. Internet fine. Would stay here again, especially due to staff as there were a few bits we forgot and they helped with, and gave us directions, ordered taxis etc making it all a lot easier. Everything felt safe here, leaving belongings etc. Maybe a little old fashioned but in a good way we like.

Well-located, old-world charm with some peculiarities

The property was very conveniently located. It had a beautiful old-style, wrought iron elevator and a small but nice rooftop patio. The room also had some nice old touches like the crown molding. The bathroom was a good size (compared to others we encountered on our SA adventures) and the shower had excellent water pressure. The receptionist who greeted us provided a map and lots of helpful advice about sights nearby. My friend enjoyed the coffee available near reception each morning.

While beautiful, the elevator was ultimately very slow and sometimes didn't come at all. The furniture in the room showed some wear - particularly a velvet arm chair. While it fit with the antique-y theme, I would probably remove it at that stage of dilapidation. Our room's bathroom when we arrived wasn't fully clean (there was hair on the floor and in the shower), and the waste basket's pedal opening mechanism was broken so it was awkward to use. We removed the wastebasket's top to make it easier for us (and hoping the whole thing would be replaced by housekeeping) but they just set the top back on (broken) in its inconvenient state again. And not the hotel's fault, but the entire 1.5 days we were visiting, one couple monopolized the rooftop deck - they and their belongings were spread out there every time we checked - so we didn't feel like we were welcome to use it.

The hotel is good but the 'hood awful

Nice view from the top to the cathedral The location is also good, in terms of being in the km0 zone.

Homeless everywhere.they are drugged and have no fear. They have nothing to risk so imagine the rest. If I wouldnt travel so much I could afford an armored swat tank to drive around montevideo and not feel insecure 😂 Other than that I asked for a room with a small terrace(the ones that are on the 6th floor but staff said they are 'reserved' 😂 (been there for 4 nights) Unfortunately montevideo is not a safe city, imho one of the shadiest one in south america.no police present. The only one where I felt insecure walking in ciudad vieja or center .... (been to bogota, san paolo, lima buenos aires santiago etc) Urine smell at the main entrance down there Other than that excellent option

a place to stay

a little gem near the gate taking you to old city. we had the top floor room with a little terrace and amazing view. there was not breakfast - but they offered coffee and cake. bed and pillow comfortable

Great place!

Hotel is centrally located. The staff was extremely friendly. Rooms are quite large with a vintage feel. Free coffee available all day!
