Everything was great from the location to the look and feel of the place to the staff. The lounge was very nice as was the outside premises.

The property was beautiful. We stayed during winter, and the warm feel of the hotel was a perfect compliment. Beautiful woodwork & cozy bar w/ fireplace. The owners, particularly Matt, were great. And if you're an Old Fashioned or expresso martini lover, he mixes some of the best we've ever had. Matt was very knowledgeable about the property & city as well. We're locals & even we learned something! We could easily walk anywhere - the property sits right on Washington Park by the bridge & playhouse. And the street it's on is very quiet, so even though our suite was @ the front of the house, we had no noise. We were very content to spend the weekend here.
I had sent an email prior to our stay asking if there was anything we might need to bring w/ us. Being a "boutique" type hotel, I worried we might need to bring our own towels, tp, that sort of thing (that has been mu experience w/ this type of place in the past). The email went unanswered, though I did get several "boilerplate" emails prior to our stay re: door codes, parking, etc. Luckily, everything we needed was provided. Additionally, when we were not immediately greeted. Again, this is typical for a boutique hotel, and we had all the codes & directions we needed to get in, so we headed to our room. The room was open & dirty. When we went back downstairs to inquire, Matt one of the owners explained that due to a housekeeping call-out, that room was unavailable. But they had upgraded us to a suite because of it, which was stunning. Just wish we had been notified before arrival of the change.

Very nice and old villa close to the city center. Parking included!
The public areas were not clean, the arrangements (especially breakfast) arranged with no love. The pictures deceive. Very poor cost benefit ratio. I would expect more from a 4 star accommodation.
4.2
Got the carriage house for our group. Large and nice. Parking included.
Staff was not good at all. I called to confirm but when we arrived the place wasn’t ready. Owner seemed very unconcerned and didn’t offer us even a free drink to compensate for our lost time in our rooms. Had to really argue with her.
4.2
beautiful exterior, lobby.
I was very disappointed with my stay. The room was adequate, not the same as the pictures. There was no breakfast in the morning - nothing was available and the coffee maker was not functioning. There were no staff to be found at all on the property.

The inn keepers seem nice
It’s run down.

Friendly and cooperative staff.
Rooms were simple, but still comfortable.

There was a major problem with the “Booking” website. I was able to book a room that was “blocked” by the owner. The property is a historic building and the owner is a wonderful hostess. She worked diligently to correct the problem with the Booking website to get us credit. Will definitely stay there if in the Albany area in the future but will book directly with the property not thru Booking.com.

We never stayed at this property.
Doors were wide open but No one was in the hotel when we arrived. We walked in and found an office with a couch that seemed as if someone was sleeping in there because it had pillows and sheets on the couch. In the dining room was fruit and a bagel left over from the morning. The bar had dirty glasses and crumpled tablecloth on top. Walked up stairs looking for someone. Stairs were dirty and wrought iron had dust an inch thick. Rooms were sparse and empty. It was creepy. So I called and said we didn't feel comfortable staying there. The owners then came back from their walk and said they wanted it to feel like home. My home is nothing like that so we left. Owner said we wouldn't be charged.

The property was very scary at nights, the electricity went out for a few hours, did not like and would not return. My necklace was stolen by the owners and they refused to give it back to me, I will file a police report, they are thieves.

Clean & quiet.
No staff on arrival. I had no idea where anything was.
4.2
Luckily we ran into the maintenance guy who let us in as there were no other staff there. Evidently we were the only ones in the whole place which was a little creepy when we came back to our room at 11.
4.2
The property and location are beautiful and the manager was very nice when she was there.
Very expensive for a self check-in property with almost no amenities. Staff are rarely on premises, the cocktail bar was not open when I checked in or returned for the night, there was no food available for purchase and no toothpaste in the hotel room.
4.2
the hotel is lovely, rooms were modern and so clean.
4.2
i liked that entry was done with the codes so we could come & go as we pleased
it’s an old building so no A/C but couldn’t open windows so even though you could request a fan, maybe having one in the room would be better (we got hot after midnight & didn’t want to bother anyone)
4.2
Stunning historical mansion, painstakingly restored to its grandeur. Super clean, nicely decorated rooms, and large comfortable common areas including coffee bar, cocktail bar, kitchen for use, and sprawling comfortable sitting and dining rooms. The Hotel is 30 steps from the beautiful Washington Park that is replete with walking/jogging trials around lake, giant beech and maple trees, playground. Owner/Operators make sure everything is “just so”.
Everything was done exactly right.

it’s stunning decor, the architectural integrity, Jess!!
not enough time to spend there!
4.2
Everything! Such beautiful decor, comfortable bed, all the amenities I needed, large variety of options for breakfast and great location for walking to good restaurants and nightlife.
Nothing. It was all amazing! Definitely going back.
4.2
The whole checking in process was seamless. Sent a code to my phone and walked into the place upon arrival and went right to the room. The staff was friendly and full of history of the actual facility which I found out is only a bit more than a year old. Our room was bigger than my college apartment - apparently I received what would normally be a family room as it had a completely separate breakout room (no door) with a large daybed. The appliances were modern but made to look older - added a cool effect. The facility itself is huge inside with a great bar and very knowledgeable bartender. The drinks were top notch as well.
Not a criticism just an observation - there were no pictures or anything of that sort on the walls in the room. I asked and was told that the place is so new they are getting to everything and plan to fill the space with art from local artists. I had no idea the place was that new.
4.2
I found our room to be spotlessly clean. The building is charming and the breakfast room was cute and cozy to hang out in.
The rooms are very small and basic. Also, I am not sure why the door to our room was wide open when we arrived, as a result, we got eaten alive by mosquitos while we slept.

it’s a beautiful facility. we live across the park on Willett street and needed a room for the night.
nothing. nothing not to like except that we needed cups or glasses in the bathroom and there weren’t any
4.2
Beautiful historic house. Nicely renovated. Beautiful bar/lounge area. Wonderful alternative to standard hotel room.
The upstairs ac was not on . It was 90 degrees outside so the rooms were too hot to rest in prior to our concert.
