Great Hotel for the price! Central location in Manhattan, near NYU. Besides seeing 1 roach when we arrived it was bug free. You can smell them thou from the drain which is something to be expected in an old building

Great value for money for stay in Manhattan. Badic room but has own bathroom and is cleaned daily. Front office staff were kind and interactions consistent throughout stay. Kind housekeeping staff. Overall will stay again.

Pros: location, price, 24x7 front desk and helping hand of moving luggage. cash payment at hotel desk. So it depends on individual people situation to consider as pros or cons. Cons: no elevator in the building, no coffee machine, no microwave, no refrigerator, no iron, no paper cups or any kind of utensils in the hotel. Very small bathroom and room. If you traveling with not so heavy luggage and for few days, this is the place. Otherwise don't even think about going here.

This is the kind of hotel that you get what you pay for. If you have any issues with stairs (there is no elevator in the hotel) ask to have a room on the first floor, you'll still have to climb 2 sets of stairs to get to the first floor, but I think the hotel has 4 or 5 floors, so you get the picture. It was basic accomodation, clean, and in a great area in the lower east side with plenty of restaurants, groceries, open late, even a 24 hour pizzeria and snack shop attached to the hotel. I would definitely stay there again, but be aware of the stairs/lack of elevator situation.

Its a nice centrally located hotel, but its a dive. Very basic, shower was pathetic, and matress was a brick. Good for location and to sleep, but if you can comfortably afford the extra for another hotel, book it.

Property was outdated and old. However, location was amazing good ambiance during day, kinda sketchy at night. Lots of walkable delicious food options. Subway entrance was down the street. Staff was really friendly.

Friendly staff. Stylish 100 year-old building. Bed was very creeky and room had window with a view of a concrete wall. Hotel was well situated for North and South Manhatton.

Pictures on expedia site were not representative of what our room was like. There was absolutely no place to set anything down - no table/counter/desk. Did not feel very clean and carpet was not vacuumed. AC was not very good. Cash only. No elevator - had to get luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Some of the staff was rude, some were nice.

This place is like something from a time wharp, 1970s, thats not a bad thing as it feeds a need, its cheap, very cheap, and in a great location. I had a few issues with toilet flush etc, and the staff fixed things very quickly. With a very inexpensive clean up, paint job, this would be a wonderful place to stay on a budget, and I wish them well and thank them for my stay.

The location is convenient, with lots of fun shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues nearby. The staff was helpful; there is no elevator, but they carried our luggage up and down the stairs. Rooms are rather spartan and with limited amenities, but clean and adequate. They will bring you additional towels and pillows, should you need them. This is a very reasonable option for a stay in New York, when you are likely to be out and about.

There was no way to cancel because they required that you pay in cash. Despite my son’s illness, there was no possibility for a refund for either of the 2 nights we did not stay there. When I arrived, the receptionist said there was a 2 night minimum, then changed it to 3 nights after I expressed concerns. I was not allowed to look at the room before committing to 3 nights with my sick child unable to walk to a different hotel. The room itself was very ugly and had a moldy smelling window unit air conditioner that was LOUD.

For the price and location it’s a steal but don’t expect anything. The room was clean but the blanket had burn holes permanently in it that they had appeared to wash but not replace.

I absolutely loved staying in the East Village. There aren't a lot of hotels and the feeling is much more of a neighborhood and a college vibe. Right around the corner from NYU. Lots of restaurants and beautiful tree lined streets.
